specs cliffnotes: im NOT on airrunner like the others from hawaii... setup is easystreet struts, dakota senders/digital gauge (mounted where the coin-tray is by the shifter), tank and valves came from my friend's LS400, lines/fittings bought locally @ hydra-air, compressor from online... no pics of the trunk 'cause i didnt put my wood floor laying back in yet, besides everyone knows what a tank and compressor hanging from the top looks like anyways.

the downside to this all is now it looks like i need some bigger, wider wheels. LOL. (current is 18x8 +38 18x9 +35, i at least could use some 10mm spacers)

thanks for lookin!

Easystreet was the easy guess...nothing else seems to lay like it. Or allows the adjustability to get it however you want it. I don't need to say the usual..you already know..haha. Can't wait to see new aggressive wheels on it!

Looks great! By the way, what does your car weigh? And how is the ride?

inspire
06-12-2008, 11:05 PM
not sure how much it weighs actually... cant just run outside and look either sorry, the car sits at my dads house. the ride's pretty damn good when i set it to what i think is the lowest i can "drive" it. haha... pretty smooth overall. i havent got to take it onto the freeway yet tho, only thru backroads and side streets.

and i found a set of wheels that i'll most likely be replacing these with. they're gold, not so vip i guess but fk it, i love gold on silver (to me it seems to mismatched, it kinda matches). used to have gold AX meshies on here before... so its kinda takin it back a couple yrs.

18x8.5 18x9.5's they'll be. pics hopefully up by end of this month / start of next month

Awesome, I have an RL and am in the market for an air setup but can't seem to find any struts that will lift the car. I would love to grab a setup like Max did for his but I just can't drop 4k on a suspension right now.

I can't wait to see the wnew wheels, I like gold on silver as well. Should look awesome!

Is it possible to post some pictures of the install and of the strut assemblies. I am interested in seeing how you installed them and the fab work you had to do to assemble them. I would really appreciate it!

we didnt have to do ay fabricating... struts were 98-02 accord application but its same for 2g TL... just took out the tein ss i previously had, threw in these, hooked up the lines... i got no pics of us installing it tho mang sorry. i can try take some pics of how the finished installation looks next time i get back to the car tho...

I don't think the struts will lift the front of my RL :( I don;t know of any other air options besides Air Runner or cylinders and I would rather not use either. lol

I don't think the struts will lift the front of my RL :( I don;t know of any other air options besides Air Runner or cylinders and I would rather not use either. lol

why not?

the RL weighs just about 3800lbs. divvy that up into its weight distribution of about 60:40 (it's actually a little closer to 58:42) . If you get the convoluted bags you're all kinds of okay.

If you get the sleeves. you've got about 60% of 3800lbs up front which would be right about 2200lbs. and you split that up into halves for each corner, you're at approx 1100 lbs per side. Max weight at 20psi for the easy street Sleeve style is like 900lbs. They can effectively hold much more, but easy street doesn't recommend over 900.

The convoluted version however can hold over 2100lbs per shock, so either it's a solution. You'd just use the factory top mounts with an EasyStreet "Fabricator" kit.

either way it's not tooooooo difficult.

EDIT:

Em' is running an awesome deal on UAS...you can go that route too. You've got aftermarket suspension so you'll be able to drop it as low as you want

You also have the option of K-sport (which is not especially recommended here but they're cheap)...Get the K-sport for the TSX and drill the 2 extra holes in the tophats for the shock tower bar and run some bolts though there..That'll allow you some adjustability of ride with the UAS.

hmm i wonder what the rating is on the airrunner system..

0psi

I do appreciate all of the information Avantgarde. I can't use bas due to the space limitations. I had a feeling that the Easy Street Sleeves were under rated a tad but wasn't really sure. I would love to use there system really. The digital system looks very nice and a better solution to switches in my opinion. UAS would be a nice alternative as well but again, the bags aren't small enough for my space restrictions and I would rather not use cylinders. I am also curiuos to know what the Air Runner system is rated at. I do know that Easy Street is possibly working on a tapered sleeve that can hold much more weight than the standard cylindrical one but there is no talk of release or even manufacturing them for sale.

looks awesome man your on azine to right?

inspire
06-24-2008, 01:34 AM
yeah dude im III on azine, thanks for the comments guys.

maxpower i thought bout those chrome b pillars for awhile but what threw me off in the end is there's still that little "bar" that separates the rear window. that chrome piece looks retarded... and if you leave it out, it looks like it's missing that piece. i was gonna go with some CF ones (since my pillars are fading/crackin like most other 2g tl's are thesedays)... but i found all-black inserts too. dunno what to do yet.

Ok, found the solution! Air Ride Technologies offers a front tapered strut that is rated at 1200lbs. That will do the trick nicely even though they are little more pricey!
