Ok if all of you guys had a choice of repainting your car, what color would you repaint it and why?

black, because it is the only color ;D

Depends on the car. I tend to go for saturated colors like blues and reds. I have a red MR2, a 3-tone blue GS400, a Silver Corolla GT-S (I wish I had painted it a more exciting color), a dark green Fiat 131, a charcoal grey Fiat 124 (boring), and a black NSX.

I'm not particularly fond of black, silver, or white cars- too boring for me, I prefer my cars to make a bit of a statement.
Fortunately, since the NSX is black I can pretty much paint it whatever color I want. I'm looking at Ferrari Tour deFrance Blue - one of my favorite colors. A good paint job can be expensive though, especially a color change. I spent $1800 just on paint materials for my GS - and that was at jobber prices.

What car do you have? And what color is it?

I'd go for a nippon silver ice paint job (that bright silver with mirror flakes ground in) to sharpen the car's lines, while sticking with a stock-ish colour.
This is the pic that inspired me (it's much more inspiring in the magazine :P)

Since I saw that article, it's been one of my favourite custom paints.
Unfortunately I reckon it would cost about 10 grand for a recolour like that

right now, im feeling ''cool vanilla'' its off the 300m's. i like the boring simple colors on cars that have a lot of body mods

That's a good colour, now that you mention it. I hadn't even thought of a cream colour. Hm...would be cheaper than a 3 stage..

I have a light silver 03 nissan altima... but i just feel silver is sooo boring.. i personally love White on Chrome rims... just... getting indecessive about black or white... black looks PIMP but white is soo sleek... and just the basic white like M3 white..

I went from black onyx to a darker black. Main thing was that I didn't want to have regrets and the kit I got looked its best on black. ;D

I like black too... but the problem is that its so easy to get those swirls and then you need to repolish and repolish again...

I am a sucker for blue... seems like every car I see these days is black or silver.
Too subtle for me. Wake me up when it's over ;)

I'm also a sucker for two-tone (or three-tone, in my case) paint jobs... if done right!

HOK black base coat.. with mixed emerald green pearl and black pearl in the first light coat of clear. (keeping the pearl very very light and subtle. only noticeable in direct light.. )

the car will look black at night and a little like dark green (but more black) in the light (depending on the angle)

someone told me that it was a good idea to have some kind a pearl over black so when the car gets dirty/ dusty is not that obvious because of the pearl effect when light hits it..

that is the paint i would go with..

i'd say a straight black, no metallic or pearl in it. if i were to go white, a pearl would HAVE to go with it. im into custom colors (not colors i mix myself) but a base and a pearl combination you wouldnt find together. i sprayed a 350Z championship white (acura type-r white) with escalade white pearl over it and if i were to paint my LS a white color, that would be it...

black shows every little thing. bodywork flaws, dents, waves, etc... white can hide many things. any color is cool. i guess i can say that cuz im an autobody tech, if i get tired of it, i can change it for about $800....
