Did anyone see the feature on Redline TV on speedvision yesterday?
I was hoping to see a few VIP cars at least...
I think I saw one LS430 and a few 300c's with poor wheel fitment. Mostly Ferrari, Lambo, BMW and Mercedes? hmmmm

comments?

Did you hear what the Lambo guy said about being VIP?

Its totally what we've been talking about on how the Japanese term of VIP is going to be changed around.

Vip Autofashion has nothing to do with Japanese Vip...I doubt most of the clientele is even aware of bippu.

hurting. They even started off explaining VIP how its 4 door luxury cars with widebody and deep dish...

but then they focus on a full race M3 CSL .... geez

As time goes on, this is gonna become more and more common. People are gonna be confusing VIP with DUB and suggest that just because a car cost more than a house, that it MUST be VIP....because it takes a Very Important Person to buy one. I can already see the line between VIP and Luxury begining to fade away.

yea its a bummer we dont get it either. Cali i know it stinks but we all knew eventually the consumers would confuse the two and lead up

to our fears and its starting already. I can only hope the true vip cars get more exposure and someone realizes the difference its like world

hunger in a sense we know its happening but there is power to change just not alot...

I'm gonna go on public here and ASK you guys to represent Japanese VIP scene. As said before I felt we needed clarity in the term so that way it doesnt get thrown out loosely. Public perception needs to have our VIP scene represented to educate and progress the Japanese VIP element here in the United States.

I know many of you will knock US tuning and how it can't compare to how they do it in Japan but I ASK you.... Educate the masses so that way when another shoot takes place for VIP, that atleast they will represent VIP correctly on tv.

I would like to showcase, not just show.... SHOWCASE an area fully dedicated to Japanese big bodies. Last year only Autofashion really represented which was awesome but to carve out your signature at such a show, you need to show the cars... i am willing to make large cutouts explaining the history of VIP here and also do whatever is necessary to get the corret terminology out there.

if you are interested in writing articles regarding the heritage of VIP please contact me at tphan@visionevent.com or AIM at HINcars

I can send you the writeups I did for Rides mag, Autoweek, and Primedia. You'll just have to change it a bit like these publications did.

It should have been done right the first time around. Not trying to makeup for misperceptions.

But I guess this is how things are. I'm sure everyone here is willing to play apart in cultivating this trend.

Maybe it was my fault that I did not try hard enough to get the VIP scene here more involved but I am trying. I've informed you and am willing to do what it takes to get the right representation but short of stealing your cars, there's not much else I can do.

Mark, please email me, we'll do a full write up article. i'd love to have your inputs on a more specific topic.
