The second I saw this car I fell in love with it and now I have a few questions.

What would be the closest USDM equivalent and is there a possible front end conversion?

What kind of rims are on it?

and

What kind of body kit is that?

Thanks for any help!

There is no US eual.* That's a Crown Majesta, Toyota has the Crown Athlete on it's U.S. site under "concepts" so I guess there's a glimmer of hope that it might make it state-side, I prefer the Athlete anyhow. The closest you could get to that older body look is probably a Cressida.

Know anything about the rims/body kit? I was thinking a Cressida, I wonder what it would take to do a front end conversion? Maybe even slap a 7mgte in there.

those Cronws have sic body lines, seem much wider than a Cressida

Yeah, I think the Cressidas are the closest to what that Crown
looks like.

From that angle its kinda hard to say what type wheels those are,
but they look like Bersaglio MESH II.

The body kit kinda looks like Junction Produce, but I could be wrong.

I know you guys hate people throwing out ideas about cars that they don't have but I was wondering if it was possible to swap a 7mgte in a Cressida. They're RWD aren't they?

It has been done and it is possible..

That's awesome! Do you know how hard it is to swap a 7m in there? Didn't they come with 3 or 5ms?

89 and up models came with a 7mge so the turbo version will bolt right up, i have even seen one with a 1jz swap from a jdm chaser, very cool 8)

So basically its the same drivetrain from the MKIII supras?

Hmm...Anything for suspension on these cars. Seems like a pretty tempting project car. I know you can get those 7mgte's up to 700+ hp.

The wheels are WORK Seekers and they are never going to come to the states(the car that is).* Japanese market knows how to make people beg ;D

Actually, as I said above, the Crown might be coming to the States. Look at Toyota USA's website, go to concepts and you'll see it right there, a Crown Athlete - the "Crown concept", I don't exactly know what makes it a concept since they've been in production for 20+ years :D . But I sure as heck hope they do bring it over, it's got such nice lines and would be a great premium car to be Toyota's flagship sedan.

I don't think that should even be a concern

Hahahahahaha......that's my old car!!! I sold it to some kid from Washigton. It was fun. But now I have a 95 LS400. Its really such a small world. That car was really fast. I never had a chance to take it to the drag strip but it was fast @ 15psi. ;D

It was swapped from auto to 5spd using the 154 tranny from a 89-90 supra and of course the motor was a N/A cressida head with a JDm 7mgte bottom end. ARp head studs torqued to 70ft lbs, geddy metal heatgasket......open exhaust...welded diff......it was fun.

But I love my lexus.

New on the boards. 130 Crown is a beautiful ride. I use to be a pround owner of one while I was in Japan for 2 yrs. And they come with stock air suspension. Just have to buy a air suspension controller made by Data Systems. The only thing sucked about it is that it took a long time to raise and lower the car. I miss that ride! Wish I could had brought here to the states.

that will be quite the departure for them to bring this over as the Crown is a RWD car and almost all of Toyota's sedan lineup are FWD...personally i think they should put this in between the GS and LS on the Lexus side...seeing as how the Infiniti M is right around the same market as their G sedan

with that being said i would really consider that car over my GS if they brought that thing over.
