2GB Simpletech 800MHz RAM
Hitachi Deskstar 160GB HDD

Mad JDM Tyte soundcard.

The bad news is that thanks to my G50 I have no money to put on the finishing touches (for a couple days at least =))

Crazy powerfull for a car pc! lol. Not even the pc im on right now has a third of the speed of that processor lol. Cant wait to see the finished product.

R u gonna be running a seperate HU or the car pc gonna run everything?

you are not using a gel cell hard drive? Are you sure that Hitachi one will stand up to these houston roads and heat?

the pc will run everything. the sound card is a "consumer audiophile grade" and it will be run with a tru ssld6 line driver so hopefully i'll get some good sq.

not sure but hard drives are cheap and good a ssd good mad expensive. i will be installing the trimmed down os to a no write compact flash so failure won't be detrimental. i'm also considering some type of liquid cooling system for all the electronics. :dunno:

ya those ssd drives are taxin. Well as long as you mount it in a secure location, I dont think you will have any problems.

not bad. I was gonna try to build one with all the parts inside where the HU goes. There is actually a lot of room in there just gotta cut some holes for air flow on the sides of the center console near the floor boards.

depends on your definition of worth.

car pc: $1200 so far
maxima: $15k (in 2001-2002)
maxima build: $10k+ (low estimate at my prices, i don't do retail)
q45: $900
q45 build: $3k in 3 days

close though. :smiley-rofl:
