So I finally got my replacement Fogs for the hid's that "fell" out.
One thing I noticed is sometimes one turns on and not the other.
The brand is OLLO which is what my buddy's shop gets.
Besides them possibly being cheap any other ideas why only one side would work and not the other.
I find myself turning the lights on and off several times then finally both lights will come on. This hasn't happened since I tightened down my battery terminal so maybe it was a loose ground or the cable.

check the connections/plugs to make sure theyre snug
if theyre fine, then you might have a faulty ballast

Those HID kits have a malfunction inside of the ballest you should swap out them and have the manufacture fix the broken one. It happend with alot of the HID kits.

Yeup Ballast issues...also are you running a relay to the battery???? or just plug and play????
To be honest with you most after market kits are manufactured in China and then distributed and relabled as what ever brand.....So just because they are cheap does not neccessarly make them any worse or better than anyother brand out there...
Could be fualty ballast like freddie said..
If you look at all the kits now they all look the same ballast and all..and lots of them use the same supervision bulbs....
Anywayz good luck mayng...
Yo we have to hook up soon for a shoot before I need more new tires...hahahahaahahaah.....

I see, I running them straight plug and play with some wiring to the original plug for my headlights. The fogs were straight plug and play. I thought maybe most HID kits were the same wasn't sure though.
I had another buddy tell me that it might be power distribution issue but I don't think that's it as if I open my hood then close it the light will turn on. I will be installing my fogs this weekend so I will let you guys know if the issue starts again once they are hooked up.

try running a relay to the battery..straight power source..this may help..Lots of kits do not include them and some do...but you can get them cheap...
I have been buying HID kits since they first came out back when they were $1500 a pair....long time ago....
These past few kits I got were the first actual kits I did not use a relay..so far so good but sometimes every few months or so one of the light flickers...reason unkown...fix rev your engine...why I dont know but it works...if it was a fualty light it would allways flicker......
has happened to me too; actually, one of my HID ballast went out; replaced it with cheapbay ones and i haven't had any issues since then... I have been wondering if this could be a ground issue since HID use very low wattage (i believe 35 w)....

I think you have a bad connection somewhere...most likely the plug that goes into your ballast...I had this happen to me on a phillips unit...the connector was half fried from shorting I think from water.

Yo D run a relay and you'll be good! or jus turn your fog light off and on.
That happens everytime I turn mine on w/ the foglights on.
So to solve that, before I cut my lights on, I make sure my fogs are off then I turn my headlights on first then my fogs.

I ended waiting to install the fogs as I am waiting for this stock bumper i bought to get here. But I did use one of the new HID ballasts I purchased for the fogs on my headlights and that one works no problem but now the headlight with the older ballast does it every now and then. I have been waiting on replacements for these for some time so I don't know what's going on with that. I will see about installing a relay for the headlights, I just hate realy wiring.

This should make it a little easier :biggthumpup:
http://www.the12volt.com/12voltimages/addremacc.gif
Connect:
86 ----->(+) headlight wire
87 ----->(+) 12v constant, like the battery
85 -----> Ground
30 -----> (+) wire of the ballasts
Done!
