yep had them on my old HD and then on my white HE.
might be getting real ones in 19's as soon as i have some funds.

im really happy with that drop but maybe rear needs to be dropped another 20mm or so.
we shall see when i get mags,then i can measure if i need a drop

Sentias/929's are nice. Definitely another one of those non platform but very capable cars. Keep us updated.

u are right it was a luxury flagship car mazda ever made,but yeah didnt sell well as no one believed in mazdas at that stage.oh well i believe in them.ive got 3rd one now and i never had any problems with previous ones

so i have measured up what offset will fit
and with camber ive got now i can fit 9" +25 in the back.thats without fender rolling and any other camber adjustment
so if i roll fenders and camber even more i shoulb be able to fit something around +20 or even lower.
but fronts have got way more space then back so i guess i will go with 8 by +20 and use spacers
so i think this set up will be just fine for now(well until i can actually afford to get mags lol)
time to save up some $$

they are only temporary until i can save up and order some 19's from japan
they are 17x7 +38 offset so yeah very weak lol.

it does a little bit.yesterday one guy thought it was a jag.and my co worker said it looks like a merc:)

well im not complaining about exhaust,i picked it up for $40 and its almost new.and dont worry, i make sure it looks decent on my car lol:)
it requires quiet a bit of work to put in because of sentias original setup.will have to cut out more out of the bumper etc etc to make it look right

yep 3 piece lorinser rims:)

they are 18"
fronts are 8.5"
rears 10"
sorry not going to tell offsets cause they weak, but width is all i want atm
i will be using spacer to push the fronts out and probably 10mm spacer at the back for flushness.
now its time to save up for tires lol:))

already trying to sort out the tires but too low on cash
plan is to get 225 front and 245 rear for now and see how they look, will give me just a mild stretch

so rears are almost flush. front will need like a 25mm spacer to make it reasonably flush or close to it.
now i need damn tires lol)

very happy that they actually fit:)
rears clear uppec control arms by 20mm and front by 15mm
so its all good there

and by the way. it was a deal of a century:) they are genuine 3 piece lorinsers made in germany and i only payed $350 for them lol:)so its liek what 180ish american$?

its my 3rd sentia and its complete nightmare:)i want lsd, um sorry we dont have.
i want shocks oh sorry we dont have it.
well yeah in japan you can get stuff for sentias but a set of adjusties is pretty hard to come by(in usable condition)
and by the way they never made HE sentia LHD unless you are willing to get HD sentia which were sold in america

well even with 929 you have limited aftermarket support...unless you are willing to spend alot of coin...just looking on YAJ there isnt much really.
and its pretty hard to get genuine bodykits now. most of them are just cheap knockoffs, but good luck mate:)
would be nice to see someone else to do a sentia

its already slammed.but will be more:)
jsut gota save up funds to build up new suspension.so probably looking at 2-3 months time depending on income:)
so yeah plan is to get it down to 50mm.now its on 85mm
so another 35 mm drop:)
total 100mm drop in the end:) cant wait

well some pathetic stupid bitch decided to crash into me last night:)awesome:)first time i took my car out in months and shit happens:)
damage is minimal,just crack in rear bumper.but it was just enough to ruin my happiness from new mags...hopefully her daddy pays up soon enough...
atleast i know now that sentia is one sturdy car:)
it took quiet a big hit.
we were sitting at the light and that chick just plounged into us withount braking....

i dont think so its worth a pic.its not bad at all.just a crack and some paint chipping and scrapes.not like ive got a huge hole in my car lol.big hit with minimal damage.so its all good.if i look at it its not that noticable anyway.car will be getting a full panel and paint this year so a little crack doesnt bother me...

and finally made a surround for my double din headunit, no more massive as gaps, its not the tidiest of the jobs but looks good in real life!

Hey man nice nice lol. By the way did you take off the mud flaps?? my once are there but rub against my wheels when im turning. As for the badge replace it with a M mazda logo like all the new Mazdas Have.

i have new style rear one, but it will be coming of in summer...i just want to keep it down low if you know what i mean:)lots of people dont know what it is untill they see that badge:)once i get rid of it they cant tell:)

nah its not compulsory bro:)it would be funny if it was, but no:)
its called elbow grease lol:)
wet sand, cut and polish and then plastic and metal polish with buffer and scratch removal and waxed, and buffed:)
takes about an hour to do each headlight:)
and it takes me whole day to polish whole car, but in the end it looks brand new:)just need to refinish my wheels and fix my bumper cause got crashed into on queen st few months ago

lmao:)how bad are they tho?mine were slightly oxidized..i usually go over the top when detailing..if its not too bad just buy some mequiars plastic X its about 20 bux for small bottle and just apply it and rub it in, it will get rid of all the yellowness, and seal it with wax and buff it(can be done with a hand easy az)

the side indicator lenses are clear as, but the headlights are slightly yellow, i have used some JIFF to remove some yelowness and it worked but they are still a bit yellow so i need to get them to a mirror finish before I install some HIDs.

dont put HID in non HID lenses:)
1- u will fail wof
2- if cops catch you, ull get a fine
3- its illegal
4- you will blind everyone:)

what ive noticed with sentias is that their headlights are crap, after polishing mine up, i already can see a bit of yellowness showing up, and its only been like a month and a half...but then again if you polish your car every few weeks, just polish up headlights aswell to keep em "new"

theres a guy on trade me that sells GP thunder bulbs, they are 8500k which is what HIDs are(will give you slightly blue tint)
but he doesnt have any H4s(sentias bulb) atm.ive been waiting for them for quet a while now.
if you want something now just go to repco and get phillips 5000k ones...they bright and they got for about 50-60 bux and they do come with blue park lights i think

sweet so our bulbs are H4 right, at least ill have some idea on what to get now. Ill get my tints done in the morning tomorrow will post pix as soon as its done to see what black tints look like on a green car lol

by the way sentias windows are slightly tinted 7% if i remember correctly...but i used to pass vtnz wof with 35% on top of it without a prob, just make sure they put a sticker underneath saying its a 34% tint

so so far nothing has changed as you can see, but in december will have tints and spacers finally, and thats pretty much it for sentia in 09...but 2010 will bring much better things:)

so got my exhaust today, well it incredibly huge and its ZEES, so its a real deal...
but we ran into some poblems while trying to put it in...well got frustrated and ended up just welding in some new tips...they look pretty big on the car, but i will be fixing my bumper in a few weeks and get them to change the cut out so it looks better etc.

Hey Mate, so shortly I shall have an HE. Did you find any suitable adjustables for the suspension? Did the FC or FD ones you were trying work?? Otherwise any other suggestions for Spring shock combo?
Your Sentia is looking good bro. Will have to organise to meet up sometime. (wont be around until xmas, new years tho)

nah fd's wont fit aye, too small and too short...
just go get some jamex/ kingsprings, that will give you a usual drop, but if you keen to go lower or even lower than i am then custom springs or compressed.
or import some adjusties from japan ($$$)atleast 15hundy for them.

ive got RSR springs in mine from japan, but they gave me atleast 70mm drop from stock, but i have no clue how as RSR only made 50mm drop max, and old owner never told me what hes done with them aye, they are possibly compressed by a few mm, but i love the handling:)

yeah a meet would be cool:)we can get other guy aswell:)
lets just hope you wont get a green one too cause that will be just silly i reckon:)

its about 5-6mm before being flush, but problem is i cant get any bigger spacers cause its illegal over here anything over 27mm...oh well

been on a parts hunt this weekend, needed a wheel bearing,well didnt get one but got something else:))
my car came with these chrome door sills and they had this sentia sticker on them, well 3 of them did, so one was missing...but i found 4 metal badges at wreckers so ofcourse i had to get them lol

Hey bro, so I just bought a silver HE. 1996, stock standard. Non leather interior. Absolutely stoked with it. Talking to a friend of mine about custom springs and short shock combo. I don't want to make it a hard ride so we are discussing spring rates with him etc.

if you dont want any hard ride, just get them compressed, cheap and does the trick, ive done it on my old sentia and it drove like a dream with pretty good handling,

Yea I did think about getting the springs compressed. May be a short term solution. Hey do you happen to know part numbers or brands of the shorter shocks you have fitted to your car?

Also Im looking at either 18 or 19 inch wheels. Depending on width, do you have any info on correct suitable offsets?? Cheers dude.

im using my original shocks which i got shortened. and i have RSR springs with 75mm drop from stock.no clue why they are so low, but it keeps me happy for now(going lower this year finally)

i do have heaps of info about offsets etc...pick a wheel and i tell you if it will fit or not:)
u can fit fairly decent low offset/wide wheels on sentias, just gota know your limits:)
atm im running 8.5 +25 front and still have around 10mm space to play with+ thats with camber as close as it could get to stock settings.
rears are 10" +44 and i can squeeze 25mm spacer in there for sure and add camber.
that will make it 10" +19 and it will need a bit of a guard roll(i will be getting spacers very soon for rears)so will update how i go with fitment.

ok about springs, there is company called cobra springs, they do a 45-50mm drop for a sentia and then u get the usual stuff like king springs and jamex.

well kinda stuck at dead end street at the moment...
not sure what to do.
got a few mechanical issues with this thing, and ofcourse no money to fix it(well there are money but off to a holiday in 2 weeks)

anyways, i have 2 bent arms, a few popped bushes, stuffed wheel bearing, stuffed tires...pretty much what could go wrong with lowering and stuff, it did go wrong:)
anyways i will be fixing all the above in next 2 months, or even way before that(depends on how much money i will have left after stupid holiday)
and after everything fixed i dont know what to do...
im planning on buying a lexus ls430, but not for another few years(cause you know it takes a while to save up 30 odd grand)
but im still planning on doing things with sentia.
i do want new wheels but not sure which...i do wnat to drop it even more, but then again im very hapy with the way my car looks now and its still reasonably drivable almost everywhere i need to go.
i've been trying to hunt down same mags as i have now but in 19s(ofcourse no luck at all) i did see some on YAJ but either not wide enough or very bad condition.
so im still kinda leaning towards BMW wheels (m6, or x5)

so m6 wheels are 19" they are decent width(8.5 front 9.5 rears and i will be using adaptors to make them fit so they will be flush)

im glad u decided to stay with us.... ive been down that road of giving in, and getting a lexus many many times..(daily basis acutally lol)

well im staying but i will be getting lexus no matter what...but i will sell my sentia once i have enough for ls430...so we are looking at possibly 2 more years of me driving this thing...

got heaps of cool stuff for my car

heaps of trim that only came with royalleclassic model(highest spec ever:))
some tanleather door trims, woodgrain window button thingys, some headlights(will modify them to make em crystal clear)
spare grille that i dontknow what im going to do with just yet.
and a woodgrain centre console where radio goes(mine was just plain black plastic)
oh and a boot lid carpet trim so it doesnt expose the frame of a boot lid(thats that black thing)

so happy:)
all i need now is leather seats and im done with the interior!!

started sanding it.
im going for crystal clear look, since im not keen to spend $700 on new headlights from japan(which have been sanded anyways:))
so i doit myself, its pretty hard i have to say,spent 3 hours with a mouse sander and got done bugger all, getting some better grit paper tomorrow.

fronts not in best condition but i havent cleaned them or treated them just yet.
but still makes the car look much better.

oh, my local importer got them from japan.
there is bugger all parts available here in new zealand.
you better of finding an importer who an get stuff from yahoo auctions japan(heaps of parts on it including coilovers and bodykits sometimes)

my springs are much lower than normal RSR springs for some reason.
they only offer 45mm drop but mine is 75mm so who knows what happened there, but they have amazing handling

got my mags back all fixed now and now got new tyres too.went with a 35profile this time since we have stupid stretch laws now...min tyre size for 10 is 255...
i had 245 40 18 on them before and yeah, its bugger all stretched.
now ive got 255 35 18 and it has almost the same stretch but its legal too...that will keep my certification guy happy.
well and i finally finished one of the headlights.
i wanted to to a projector retrofit and after sourcing some, i scrapped that idea, i simply cant be arsed doing it...so i just added bulb shields so it doesnt blind anyone...
it is abit hazy in the corners but i cant get to them with my current buffer pad...once i find pad small enough i'll open them up again and rebuff them...other wise they came out almost mint...

I sadly sold my Sentia and bought a e200 Mercedes which i sold a month afta coz wanted a bimmer, bought a 728i BMW and had that for a month and then electrical issues so i sold that too, now Im driving a 2000 Honda Accord Wagon, yeah stepped away from VIP but got to experience everething. hasnt been on the road since may. still unsure what im doing with it lol.but atm saving up for a holden:)
kinda feel a need for some 5.7 v8:) will see how i go...
but at the moment no plans for sentia...a few mechanical issues i still have to sort...bent shock and a few rods there and there, nothing major, but have no time at all for this stuff, busy 24/7 with work at the moment.

see this is the exact reason why i dont want an euro...unless it has full mechanical warranty, but even still wouldnt really buy one.

hey nothing wrong with an accord wagon, those can be done in vipstyle...check the forums out, there is an official accord thread somewhere. im sure you will find a few cars you will like!:)

929 started all the way in 70s:)then there was a luce from early 80s and then they got 929(HD ,i had one aswell) and then in 95 they released HE, which is what i've got.
pity they are not platform cars, but im happy to see that they are accepted in the community. only wish mine was as good looking as some of those out there.
im currently on the hunt for some new mags cause these lorinsers keep on cracking on me:( and dont see a point in rebuilding them as it would be far more expensive than a new set of 19s.
but certainly need another drop, but will see how we go in 2011:)

yeah i've seen it, not a huge fan...bags are for groceries and 20s certainly are a big no no for sentias...19s are max on these cars since their guards are pretty small.

well plenty of plans, but no time...trying to concentrate on my biz at the moment.
But it will be of the road over the winter and hoping to replace the suspension and drop it another 40mm or so, nolathane as much as i can too. And possibly do something about the exhaust as mine is leaking in 3 different places(sentias exhaust welds are pretty weak, one of the cats is on a verge of falling off from all scraping and stuff.)
So it will either be a quad setup or twin, havent decided yet and ofcourse the cost will determine which way i will go.

so i decided to take a day off today and check out my car(hasnt seen a daylight in almost 2 months:))
she is a bit dirty, but still goes lol... altho exhaust is snapped in half due to excessive scraping.
since its almost winter here and i certainly wont be driving the car for next 6 months, i have decided to pull the wheels of and recondition them myself...
as we all know wheels are about 20 years old or so, and ofcourse no one ever done anythign to them.
They might look all pretty in pics, but in reality clearcoat is hazy and there is some damage from muppets who dont know how to take the centre caps off.
so i will be stripping the clear coat of and will give it a decent polish... not sure what to do with centre caps tho, they are not in the best shape to be honest...

well we shall see how i get on with this little project. i have limited time, so it will take me a few weeks to get it all sorted.
oh and current spacers on the front will be going on rear and i will be getting bigger ones for the front shortly.

started stripping clear coat of my mags not long ago...

tested on one centre cap...
you can see a huge difference between them now(no polishing involved yet, just stripped clear)

i will do all the wheels and see how they look, if i dont like the finish, i might paint centres silver or something.

so i've run into a small problem, front face is about 25mm bigger than rear. seeing my mate over the weekend to see if it can be machined off! the rest has exactly the same measurements.

just finished all the calculations for rear new lips, im rather excited:) sadly fronts will be about the same as they are now, but i can always run a 5mm spacer to even it out.(atleast not a 25mm as right now:))

I think it was never accepted as a true platform because it never came with a V8. Mazda threw in its lousy under powered V6 from the MPV.

but im slowly regretting that i got into this, those bolts are a bitch... and so far i got 2 rims apart and half of the 3rd one...and im stuck with it, i guess no summer cruising this year for me, unless those bolt will undo themselfs by magic lol
i will prob pain the centres too, but undecided on color yet.

clearcoat stripped and lip polished, althought i will take it to the shop to fix up a few marks from previous owner where they attacked it with a metal file or grinder.... idiots.
im still deciding on what color to paint the centres, it will be satin black between the spokes(cutouts)

top right is stock shock with stock spring and next to it is a spring that came with the shock(2.5 coils cut) went straight into the bin
as you can see these shocks are "semi" adjustable.basically i can move spring seat by 1"

so i got onto it this arvo after work, took my old shocks out and rsr springs and tomorrow will put it all back together, hopefully will be able to drop rear a bit more. if not its till better as my rear shocks were TOAST

i can only rebarrel to anything that was made by lorinser... my stock arms will only let me get -3.5deg max on camber so gotta work with that. i can push a fair bit of rim under those guards, but im not sure if i wanna go and buy new rims(much better fitting)

i actually forgot that they did cups on those:) might look into it... but the only problem is that since they are of an rx7 they will be as low as it can get... on highest setting we are looking at possibly 50-60mm of the ground... kinda no point of getting cups:) but will see when they go in in a next few weeks when i get time:)

its on the highest setting and can pretty much lay frame if i want to... now a few issues.
they came of an rx7... so now they are bottoming out... now what do i do with springs? do the just sit there or do i pretention them? never had coilovers so any help will be great...

seeing as how they're for an rx7, you're probably gonna bottom out quite a bit due to the heavier weight of the sentia. best bet would probably upgrade the springs.

what about adjusting preload? would that help? they seem to be soft even when i adjusted dampening to the hardest. i havent touched the preload and spring is not loose but i can move it around with my hands.. will that help?
i just brough another set of a skyline, which is a bit heavier than rx7... but then again rx7 is about 200kg lighter than my car soi this shouldnt be an issue?

if your springs were snug against the tophat, it should be properly preloaded. adjusting dampening is not going to compensate for spring that can't handle the weight. 200kg/440lb is a significant weight difference imo. same as throwing 2-3 adults in your car.

That's what Kouki meant, you have to heat it up good w/ a torch then get cracking w/ the 10lbs hammer, if that's not enough just cut it out and do a proper tubb job:biggthumpup:

once they are all in i will decide on what spring rates to go with, but so far it looks like 14k front 12k rear... does that sound about right?
