Hello VIP-ers,

Im Lawrence and i owned a Mercedes W124 and W203, i am really interested in lowering my ride to a VIP style. But before i do so i need some input interms of steps and products i need to buy to do so.... In short im a noob in this matter

I have read many threads in this forum and i found out there are 2 kinds of way you may lower your ride...

1. Suspension, coils, absorbers... permanent
2. Air suspension (hydraulics)... adjustable

In my observation, by changing your suspension coils, etc... this may lower the ride but when it come to bumps there will be chances under the car will scrape along because the height is permanent.

While for hydraulics you may control the car height as you desire anytime anywhere... but the question is will it effect the suspension?? Will it make your ride stiff like as though there is no suspension at all...??

Can some 1 please enlightened me over this matter... Please correct me if im wrong... thanks

air is not the same as hydraulics.. hydraulics are what you see in a dr dre music video. air is a more simple up and down within the suspension travel. most rides here are lowered on air or coils. air is the more expensive of the two, and they are both able to adjust the ride-height but coils can only be height-adjusted with some undercar work. so you get what you pay for, i think coils will do the job for most, but if you think air is necessary, then that is a very possible option.

ill let someone with a little more knowledge answer the more technical matters, and the what to buy question but hopefully this clears it up a little and helps you out

My country comes with lots of bumps on the roads for a purpose... so lowering too much by coils will not be feasible as it will scrape along the car bottom. Ive always thought of hydraulics where i can control the height anytime anywhere but then i believe that is for the extreme VIP modders and its really expansive...

Ive read about coil overs, is this the coils that is able to adjust the ride height according to your preferences...?? it seems most VIP riders have installled this into their rides. And for a Mercedes which coil brands or sets are the most recommended/reliable... and besides coils is there any other things that i need to consider to purchase?
