I am not doing my interior up right now, I just want to see what certain leather hides go for. If you have any sites, please post them up. Thank you

You're probably looking at about 6 to 8 square yards of material for your seats and 6 square yards for your head liner and pilars...

thats alot of material. i got 6 yards of suede for when i did my head liner, a-pillar, b-pillar, sail panels, sunroof panel, rear package tray and all the plastic in between and still have enough to make some neck pillows and some other things. and as for the leather im probably gonna get 1.5 seats per hide of leather with some left over for whatever.

its not pleather. Thats the same leather they use in lexus/bmw/mercedes premium packages.

Aniline leather is a type of leather in which high quality hides have been treated with aniline as a dye. This produces a delicate, soft, supple leather.

Typically, leather is coloured both for aesthetic reasons and to conceal blemishes. However, aniline leather is not coloured. Often the term naked leather is used. This allows the leather to breathe better, making the leather more comfortable in both hot and cold weather.

Because the aniline leather does not cover up any imperfections in the original leather, it must be of very high quality without imperfections to be used to make a leather seat/sofa.

What is Pure Aniline Leather?
Pure Aniline is top grain leather that is dyed for color without any pigments applied. These hides will exhibit some natural characteristics such as healed scars, scratches, neck and belly wrinkles. Expect color variation from the swatch to the actual leather, due to the fact leather is a natural product and will absorb dye differently within the hide and from hide to hide. This leather will develop a rich patina over time and will fade with prolonged exposure to sunlight.

What is Protected Aniline Leather?
Protected aniline leather is a top grain leather that is dyed for color and then receives pigment to ensure color consistency. Without pigment a protected leather is not color consistent. The pigment also ensures fade resistance and helps the leather wear over time. A clear water based topcoat is applied for additional protection. The natural imperfections of the hide are also less noticeable. Hides average 50-55 square feet. Protected Aniline Leathers are easy to maintain and have maximum resistance to wear, soiling, and fading from light.

What is Semi-Aniline Leather?
Semi-Aniline leather is pure aniline leather that has a small amount of pigment or clear finish thus allowing the natural characteristics of the hide to still show through while offering some of the benefits of color consistency and increased wearability.

Im familiar with it. I guess my comment wasn't clear enough (still hung over). What I was trying to say was thats what im aiming for if not better.

Some of these aftermarket leather seat covers are actually a downgrade from what comes factory. Thats why im going custom

oh of course, I wasnt recommending getting any prefabbed covers for your car. You gotta go the custom route man. I was just telling you that is the same type of hide that I bought for my seats.

Here is a not so good pic
