Correct, my friend Shino owns that shop. She doesn't carry them anymore and that new place Rocket Bunny is now doing them again.

it's not that I hold anything against them
but I swear I used to see them all the time on beat-up old Japanese cars in Taiwan back in the days
I guess they are cool now ^_^

barrels.. ultimately made by Big End. You can also see their barrels and rodders on TRS kyoto's little cars (i.e. rocket bunny):

that whole site is all about watching the front page though...

Explain how Shino Kouba's shop in Saitama had them before that? Everyone knew to get them there as well (meaning my Japanese 86 friends), then later the tra/rocket bunny stuff popped up after they were discontinued. Now they may be being produced again at Big End, but I'll have to ask Shino who produced them for her shop before that, maybe it was Big End or they bought the molds, I never thought to ask.

white mike: look man, just fyi a lot of folks on here think that your posts (besides the useless ones) always seem to be just wrought with idle braggadocio. They don't post anything public about it (rather via PMs and real life conversations)... but note that the number of og members of this board who used to contribute regularly has decreased slightly after a bunch of "you guys" showed up, and after you inundated the board with your blather. e.g. just chill man! No need to make every post try so hard to prove that you know anyone and everyone and anything and everything about Japan! We got the point a couple hundred posts ago that you do know it all. So now you can relax and just *contribute* regular, mature, non-haughty posts. And about the barrels, yes, please call up your friend-today if possible-as I, too, am curious about the barrel's origins now. Or... what if I told you that my friend's buddy's factory MAKES big end's wheels? And that big end just sold to various other makes and vendors (like rocket bunny that sells them as the 6666 wheel), which is why they were still called big end barrels or barrels by everyone else? Hmmmmmm....possible........but yes, please contact your friend when you get a chance and post your findings.
Yup, a way-too-porn-knowledgable friend confirmed that that was kate from kate's playground, and he mentioned something about her having a hoof for a foot.

Wow, that was to me? I wrote in my post nothing negative:

I think you took it from the get go that I was out to shut you down which is BS. I only found it interesting that you knew them to be always from there. I knew them always to be from Shino Kouba. It made me curious of where they really came from. I mean it's a wheel, no big deal, no need for you to get upset about. I know how the wheel industry works..I'm in that industry. I know that many wheels are produced by the same factories at times. That was never my point, in fact, I had no point. I was just curious. That's all. I thought it was a quite normal post. Did you only read the first sentence? I wasn't "calling you out", I wanted to know what more you knew. Dude..come on, I know you have knowledge, so I asked. Take it as a compliment that I wanted to know what you knew. Wow...just wow.

I didn't view anything as a shut down for anything.. I'm just bluntly letting you know that there are many people on the boards who think that you're sorta ruining this place with a lot of your posts. Yes, it's not JUST you, but you're the most overt. People try to hint at it before, but when you don't get the hint, then it just needs to be said openly. Kinda like the dude from that one shop who used to give himself props in the 3rd person on here... no one was falling for it really, and they'd make slight remarks for him to stop, while lots of people were PMing me about it, and there was talk about it in the mods forum (so those posts were not public)... and the dude didn't stop, so I just had to put it out there frankly. It's not that people on here don't want you here... it's just that I think you can feel comfortable here w/o having to get so uppity about putting yourself out there, and there's no need to show anything off to everyone...we're all chill here (well, mostly)... so you can be chill too.
jbo: I did get your PM I think a week and a half ago, and was replying to it when my computer crashed... and after that I honestly haven't been back to this board in like over a week or so (you can tell by the gap between my posts before today). I'm actually going through like half a dozen PMs right now that i need to reply to... so I'll get back to you (and everyone else that has PMed me)..!
oh crap, ok I just had to look for myself and I guess I was a ghost from here for 14 days...
God I was hoping so please ignore my last pm I shouldve known you were busy.

As a moderator you should have known to PM me about this. I could care less that you posted it public. But other people do care and I hope this isn't your practice. I have "calmed down" considerably. I'm sorry if what i know is what i know. I don't drop names unless it is required so people understand I'm not just making a blank statement...such as in this case. Shino IS my friend, it's no different than me saying my friend Kaui that works construction. People have jobs..some of them are our friends. I am part of this whole market due to media involvement and my own personal involvement for well more than the last decade. I don't need people to pat me on the back and I don't need to have the glory. I, like you, have information to offer. I am blunt, that is a very real truth. I made a public appology to these boards about an issue that occured, but I will not appologize for others who continue to bring these things up after they have been dropped. I hope you understand that it isn't me keeping those issues alive. I have been being chill, your perception of my post caused you to get riled up. Sorry you took it that way...not much I can do there. People think what they will think.
