ok so it was cold and snowy here for a while and my van sat for about a month without me starting it. when i tried to start it the battery was dead so i replaced it. now when i try to start it, it just cranks and the engine never turns over. but when i have the key in the on position i dont get the check engine light so i believe that means the ecu isnt working. so any idea's/ solutions?

Shawn,
I'll ask my friend who is a tech at Toyota to see what he thinks is the culprit. Hope that it is a easy and cheap fix.

I would air out the inside with the van in the garage or something with the windows open. Air out for a few days with the battery disconnected. If you did accumilate alot of moiture it could possilby have messed up the ECU or some other electronics. Moisture in fuel line could be possible.

so my roommate started it up by bypassing the ecu and it ran fine. now i have to find out the problem with the ecu.

I didn't bypass the ECU... lol @ Shawn.. I just bypassed the main EFI relay... and its doing just fine..
For some reason, and I haven't had any time to look into it, its either the relay its self, or the power source running to the relay... either way, it will be resolved.
