Everything I've found so far is of 19s. Anyone got a pic of an 18x10 with a 235/40 on it. A dunlop fm901 pic would be perfect, since that's what I think I'm gonna run.
Thanks guys!

I can only show you an 18x10.5 with a 245/40 if that'll do. I run RT615 Falkens on them. Let me know and I'll post a pic.

Thank JStyle! chmercer, that'd be great if you could get a pic of that. That tire was actually my second choice (1st being the ST-115), but I can't find either of them in stock anywhere anymore. The 452 replaced them both, and they're freaking expensive. I loved the ST-115s, dunno WTH they got rid of them. I think I'm gonna run a 225/40 on the 9 and a 235/40 on the 10, mainly so I don't have to pull the rears as much. I wanna keep the pull to a minimum. Keep the pics coming guys!

Come on guys... Anyone else? I think I've pretty much decided to go with a 225/40 on the 9 and a 235/40 on the 10. I guess a 215 on the 9 would match better (as far as the degree of stretch f/r), but I'm scared of understeer. This isn't a show car, it gets driven hard. I liked the way my old setup handled (225/40 on a 18x8.5 and a 245/40 on a 18x9.5). I'd still like to see a few more pics of a 235/40 on a 10 though.
Also, I'm curious about what you guys think about the new Dunlop DZ101. Anyone ever stretched one of those? They're only $50 more (total, not per tire) and their treadwear is 300 (FM901's are 200). Do they stretch well? I've read a lot of good reviews of the FM's as far as stretching goes, but I'd like to get something with better treadwear if possible.
Thanks guys!
Bryan

yes more pics but Also....
how about the distance from the ground to the edge of the lip????? anyone?
sorry for the trivia but my frontare are 7cm off the ground (18x9.5 w/225-40-18) and i just want the rears to be about the same but not less.
btw-yes different rim and different tire combos make different results
this is great.........man, its making me think running a 245 out back on the 10 isn't gonna be much of a stretch :idiot2:
Jstyle, thats sick man. a kit is gonna kill em ;)

It'll still be a stretch, just not as much. 225/245 on a 9/10 combo is popular. I have a few friends running those sizes. I would run a 245, but I'm trying to keep the pulling to a minimum...

curious, does anyone have 245/35 on a 10? i was thinking about getting a pair of thoes next time. curious to see if the shortened sidewall makes up for the reduced stretch.

Probably. I had a 245/40 on a 9.5 and a friend of mine had a 255/35 on a 9.5 and his looked more stretched than mine (because of the shorter sidewall).

235/40 on 18x10s on the back of the red 240SX here, and on the back of the Q45 also:
http://www.onetongarage.com/about/shop2.jpg
I still think back and wonder how I got that particular setup on the 240SX to appear so wide... as when I had it on the Q it just looked so much larger (in diam and width) than it really was.
blah too lazy to do a screen cap now.. but if you check out http://www.onetongarage.com/van/q45.avi at 26-29secs and 42-44secs , you can see how extraordinarily large/wide that 235/40-18 on 18x10 looked.

leroy couldn't put more footage of his car in the vid cuz when I held the dv cam my parkinson's made it look like the blair witch project. Still got my Q...but it's been on stands for over a year, and kinda miss driving it. Waiting on some wheels to come in, and then it'll be back to guzzling expensive gas again...

I like how fat that looks, would 235/40/19 give the same effect or would it be "too" big looking? Anyone have pics of that? I still havent gotten my tires yet
One Ton VIP

It ultimately depends on the specific tire... but same tire for same tire, the higher profile one will not look as wide or "big"

So I got em on. Ended up going with a 235/40 Dunlop Direzza DZ101 on the 18x10. Here's a link to a few pics of the car. Didn't get a close up of the stretch yet. For reference, these tires seem to run a little wide. I actually still have a little bit of rim protector showing on the fronts...
