i'm selling my brand new in box coilovers for my 2000 Q45. the closest they have come to getting on my car was putting the box in my trunk. i haven't had the time to put them on and now i am getting rid of my car (sadly) due to my daily commute not being V8 friendly.

they are $2750 + shipping which is pretty much what you'd pay retail AFTER you turn in your spindles for the core deposit. you are also going to have to wait for them to be built and shipped from Japan (3 months for me), so this is a pretty good deal.

i'll put pics of them up when i get home for those who want to know what they look like.

True that. You can get Insurance coils for ~$2,000 plus shipping. Don't mean to blow up your spot.

$2000 isn't too bad, but the Insurance ones don't have the adjustability that the JIC ones do. i'd say that the extra $750 is worth it for another half inch drop (the lower the better) and adjustable camber plates up front which if you can't find new are another $400 or so you have to spend. (and wait to come from Japan).

it's not like i'm trying to make money off of these. at that price i'm already down $600 and 3 months of waiting.

y'all need to chill on the post dumping.

retail on the y33 tar is $2850 and they are a special order only item, meaning a wait time that will vary upon shipment schedule. in addition a $600 core charge is required, meaning either you eat another $600 or you're a**ed out should you need a rebuild or wish to sell.

this is a legit deal simply on the special order status and no core charge even though the price itself may not be incredible (although definitely fair).

*edit - and comparing jic to insurance coils is like going to infiniti and telling them you can get a hyundai for cheaper. they might both be great but they are not the same.

thank you. if these were dime a dozen coilovers that you could pick up easily and weren't as good quality of course i'd be selling them for less than what i am asking. people should try going into a shop and telling them they don't want to pay the retail price and the core charge and expect their coilovers in a week. this is a good deal hands down.

any authorized dealer advertising these for less than $2650 is in violation of their contract with jic.

I see these brand new from vendors on Yahoo Auctions for $1700-2000...

yeah, the cheapest set i found on google shopping was $2400...but that is for the G50 and not the Y33.

i fail to see why you guys think this is such a bad deal for these coils. why pay the full price up front, then wait for them to be made and shipped from Japan, then install them and take apart your stock suspension to remove the oem spindles, then ship those off and wait for the core charge to come back from JIC (and they don't cover the shipping). with these there is no wait, no core charge and you have a spare set of stock struts if they are needed. how is that a bad deal? everybody seems to want something for nothing.

if anyone can find a set of these for a cheaper price with no core charge and no wait time then i'll adjust my price.

I think it's a great deal and would love to snag them, but I only have enough for CCWs for my S14 or these. The S14 takes priority. :( Good luck though...I agree with you about the advantages of getting these from you.

I'm still debating getting these....I'd have to sell my stock Touring shocks and Espelir springs first. Anybody??

DanceCrashers
03-23-2009, 05:54 PM
you know, if you guys do the math...if you turn your spindles in for the core deposit these are gonna end up costing you about $1900 in the end. just food for thought.

So JIC will accept my stock spindles for a core refund even though I wasn't the one who bought them? PM me some more details...I am very interested.

DanceCrashers
03-25-2009, 02:46 PM
i'm actually looking into this. i never received anything with the coilovers that said i purchased them or anything to send the spindles back in. so, i'm gonna try to get ahold of the vendor and see what they say.
