Mode parfume is so hot right now...
I like how it doesnt make the car look 'bulbous' (for want of a better word) at the rear, but instead it gives it a long look. Go for it!!
Whats the difference between the original and phantom versions?

Johnny....is this the latest offering from Mode? Looks good....can't see the sides and rear though. Not sure how many Y34's we can hook up here in the US due the limited production years. Keep in mind, the grill will have to be changed if you use the front bumper. Maybe I'll switch to this kit and win Global Tuning Awards Infiniti class again...

Do you think the license plate breaks up the lines of the kit?
Do you think the* license plate breaks up the lines of the kit?
Yes.
I have never had a front plate on the front of my cars....
you can have them make you the kit without the plate deal, right? I hope so.
the lines would run accross smoothley ???

Wow, way too expensive. they are going for 21-25K typically, even with similar milage, but black on black is always nice. On eBay you can sometimes find them for under 20K. Dealers in Hawaii love to mark up the window.

I'd be surprised if they do make you a custom one without the plate section, considering a) Front plates are legally required in Japan and b) recessed and moulded front plates are popular there.
Damn i wish i could run without a front plate here in Australia :(

Very nice kit. They are strict in BC as well for front plates so I don't mind the recess at all.

hmmm, was this topic brought up in another thread on here? Not sure... but since it was brought up here, I was wondering what people's thoughts were about this... and what were your thoughts? What were the judging criteria that got your M45 the win over the Top Secret Skyline? I'm very ignorant about this whole process, but I can't help but feel that events like this GTA thing just further trivializes the whole import car industry, and makes it seem-in the eyes of those outside of this particular niche-to appear to be nothing more than a big joke; a kids' game that isn't worth taking seriously. My roots in the whole automotive trade do not lie strictly in imports, and my formulative years in the "game" involved hanging out and learning more from the "rich old white men with the hot rods," so I can say I have a fair grasp on what their views would be... and in this case, I can say without a doubt that it would be with a contemptuous eye that it's all a big joke. I'm confused exactly what the deal with that GTA show was. I'm not being condescending, but serious here... in what way was your M45 superior to the Skyline as far as "tuning?" And do you consider the show sort of ... just another show that shouldn't be taken seriously, and not even at face value? I mean, it's like if I had my coming project '36 Ford 1Ton Dump Truck at a show where it beats out ken reister's "impression" http://www.jalopnik.com/cars/foose_36_ambr.jpg (which incidentally is prob one of the most bad ass rods I've seen in years), I'd honestly be sorta pissed at the whole show as being an obvious sham, and just does nothing to promote the industry at all. Wondering where you stand on that and your thoughts on the subj...

I was kind of curious about this too? Is there like a billion awards for all different types of stuff? I'm used to the same stuff as One Ton. My family has been in the car show industry since the late 50's, early 60's and I just don't have a full grasp of these Global Tuning awards. Is it just product based and have nothing to do with the car? Someone please explain this...

I'm not sure....the only thing I know is they came out to NJ and shot a bunch of cars, went across the US, Canada, Europe, and Japan and did the same thing, then narrowed it down to 3 for each category. We got a phone call asking us to attend the show, flew my girl out to LA, and that was it. Thanks for the props though.....

Hmmm, interesting how that works... so this is a dead serious question, because I know you're not an idiot, nor are any of the people here on this board... do you honestly think the show is a joke? I mean, just as the analogy I used with the "Impression," Top Secret's V35 is just TOO crazy...TOO good... there's almost not a single unmodified piece on the car; and it's modified WELL and with purpose. So I really don't know how it can not win best tuned Infiniti on the globe, other than for the fact that it's NOT an Infiniti. If it was a VIP award, then yes, I can see how the M45 beat it out cuz the V35-especially that one-is not built VIP at all. But as a tuning car, that particular skyline pretty much blows most any other "tuner car" away with its creativity, ingenuity, engineering, fabrication, customization, etc. And that's why I can't help but feel that shows/events like the GTA are just further hurting the import community by portraying them as a big rave for kids who don't really care about cars (i.e. like HIN etc...).

My guess is if the car belonged to anyone else but me, you'd be happy that VIP was getting good exposure. But since it's me, you just wonder how legit the show is, how on earth I beat out all those other cars....or even how my car could even be in the same league as those guys. But that's cool.....bottom line is the M won. Regardless of how "legit" the show is or even if it was a joke...a very expensive joke, the bottom line is the M won. Why can't you just accept that....but I guess that's just you. Is it hurting the community....how ??? .....because you don't agree with the show??? Usually, the only people that question or complain about award shows are those who didn't get selected, or those who lost. I guess you'd have to ask other winners of award shows (regardless of what show it is) did they feel they won a lame or joke of a show? Bottom line is no matter what car I have or how it looks, you'll never like it and will question everything about it....and that's cool because it's your opinion and to be honest, I find it very amusing.
Oh, the person to ask if the show is a joke and if it is hurting the community would be Will Ha of GTA at willh@gtawards.com Why not bring up your points to him if it really bothers you that much.....

Again I have to agree withy Robert...that was left field man. Why are you letting this be so personal? Is that quote directed at me as well since I also questioned the judging process? You are failing to understand where we are coming from because the car belongs to you. Had the car been someones elses maybe then you'd be able to understand and see that the win was very unusual given the competition. I'm sure there were many other raised eyebrows..other than those that were in that particular class. I mean, afterall, I wasn't involved in it at all, but knew some of the cars in your class...and in all honesty I wouldn't have even put your M in contention. I'm not saying it's not a nice car...it is nice, but it's not nice enough to take the cake over higher caliber cars. Yes, it "won"...but it's a very unusual win. A win which I and others don't understand the reasons for. That's all. It's absolutely nothing personal.

ya know.. honestly.. I'm tired of trying to tip-toe on glass every time I make a serious post to you.. because YOU just can't get over thinking that everyone on this board-and I-are out to get you. Reread my posts and notice how fuckin hard I tried to make sure you realized that I was being serious and unbiased in my points... that I used an analogy involving myself in the same situation so you would understand that it's not ALL ABOUT YOU. ("Imagine my old hot rod project going against Ken Reister's, chip foose-built Impression rod that took like 7 years and probably over half a million to build, and BEATING it?!?") But alas, you did not realize and understand that. I DON'T care if MY DAD owned that M45...even HE would know it makes no sense that it could beat out the Top Secret Skyline in a contest of "best tuned" Infiniti. And that's just it; that's the point: it doesn't matter who owns the car... you, me, my dad, my grandma, GOD, SHIVA, whoever... it still doesn't make sense to people who have sense. And that's why travesties like these only seem to be hurting the import industry, as people who do have sense view it as one big joke, and will never take us or our cars seriously.
and yes, you are a target because you continually are here talking about representing VIP and such, and helping all of us etc. but what will eventually happen is just a dillution of what we know as VIP. Hey, it's great... people will make money. But don't confuse the want to ride a trend and exploit it and benefit financially from it with a true interest, nee passion, in something as esoteric as this. It's unfortunate though, but at this rate, something as intriguing and "mature" as VIP will eventually-in the US-just be lumped into the same category as pastel pink civics with lambo doors and supra taillights and 19 TVs and Rota wheels etc etc. thanks to shit like this... i.e. again, nothing to be taken seriously. Will Ha eh...? he's a smart guy.. i'm sure he's making out like a bandit.

I doubt they'd even answer my e-mail if I sent one. So, if you really want to get a straight answer from real judges....why not have my Mom and her associates judge the cars. She has been a judge for both Super Chevy shows, several of the hotrod/streetrod shows, and for my Grandfathers World of Wheels shows. I also have been a judge at shows..this is why I expressed my confusion. I didn't bring up my "history" with this subject because it seems any time I do, people get all bent saying I'm trying to brag or something. I just want you to realize I'm not just some random guy trying to make an arguement. It's easy for you to say "why not ask GTA"...to me that clearly means that when you heard the news you were shocked as well...and if you weren't then I'd really raise my eyebrow. This isn't a personal attack on you, I just don't get it. Plain and simple, and please understand this isn't a cutdown or an attack on you or your character.

Back to the subject, I'd really like to see more Y34's in the US in the VIP style. I met a bunch of owners at a show this weekend and they never really considered an older M, but the prices are coming down and they like how it has great potential. I'm trying to get a NY owner to be the first with the Mode kit.

The AC kit is nice. If it clears the NA supports than thats even better. It is very well priced compared to the Insurance kit as well. Are the kits made in Japan? I actually emailed them to see if they can make the kit without that weird vent on the front bumper on the drivers side. I'm not sure why they have that there.

>HAHA< wow there WAS another thread about the show specifically... crap no wonder it was under the radar.. it's in the general category.
Anyway, fave Y34 kit from japan for me:
http://www.aimgain.net/products/aero/img/pic1_y34ced_eu.jpg
and I always thought it was funny, that I wanted to get an older M45 for my dad, as I thought it'd be a perfect match. but when the new M45s came out, I could only see getting that for my mom. The model became way too different in style (not bad, just different)... but I guess that's what happens when you bring over two totally different cars from Japan and badge them as the same thing over here...

I just borrowed a bunch of VIPstyle/Car mags from 06 and I notice the y34 is very rare to see.* *There are more Sentia's/929's in there.* *I see Marks M45 a lot though!*
Why is this not a more popular VIP car in Japan?* Styling?* *I know I am undecided on the styling and prefer the headlights of the F50.
