Q about HID

I was wondering if anyone know if HID are inchangeable? As in i have a nissan altima which uses H1 stock headlight bulbs and my friend is giving me his Benz E190 HIDs (aftermarket). And as i searched his stock headlights are 9004. But when i look at HID kits the bulbs all look so similar, just that some are shorter and some are longer. So anyways what do you guys think? would it fit?

bases are different. you would need to go buy bulbs/ harness connectors that are H1. best bet, sell the 9004 kit, and buy an H1 kit.

i mean the bulb type. he said his car takes H1, then he should use H1. right? or are d2s bulbs and H1 bulbs the same?

i donno what d2s bulbs are... lets just say when i tried putting on those halogen bulbs i put H1s but they kept on burning out so really rather want HID

ok..i see..n no D2S n H1 are different...D2S thinner bulbs n longer, what most Merc have i think..n there's like a wire connected outside the bulbs..
H1 juz like other normal automotive bulbs..n yes he should get H1 since his car is H1
