Well I was a dumbass and took my car to the car wash where they put it throught the track on my SSR Professors... left a blemish all the way around on both rims on one side. Its from a plastic protecting guard on the track and I'm thinking I can polish it out with rubbing compound or something... any ideas?

Thanks,
Ryan

In most cases... if the scratches can catch your fingernail when dragged lightly across the surface, you won't be able to buff them out yourself. In fact, if it catches, it's gonna take quite a bit of work to refinish them actually. Question is... is the car wash going to reimburse? Even though they will say it's the owner's responsibility for noting whether their car has parts that might get damaged through the rails or not... it's also the worker dude's responsibility for catching stuff like that before the car actually goes through...

Hardcore scratches and blemishes, use some fine wet n dry, followed by a buffing wheel/die grinder type buffing tool with black tripoli, then brown tripoli, then white rouge. Then you can finish with the metal polish of your choice, like mothers or some shite.

its not a gouge at all... its from plastic.
