I'm not sure if they make led ones, but I've seen crystal clear red/clear ones for the 1st gen ls. Crosszone.jp has them listed in the vipcar mags. I'll have to look through them again to find out which other online shops have them. I've also seen led board inserts that could be put in any application which those could possibly be.

Here are those crosszone ones for 1st and 2nd gen ls, but I don't believe they are leds. :(

All the LED taillights you see on the cars are currently custom done. There are a few companies that do it over there, but its hideously expensive (last time i checked it was something like $2k for a set of tails)

Hehe, I'm not going to spend that much, but I'm currently looking at a custom set right now for a lot less.

Ok, right... I meant to say $2k, or $2000. Still bloody expensive.

I may end up doing it myself on my lights. Cant be that hard!!

Probably just more time consuming...what will you do drill wholes and recess the leds? or insert a panel?..Good luck on that build and when done I would love to see the
finish product.. ;)

Guys these are soo easy to make...given you know how to make a circuit for the LEDs. All you have to do is remove the inside reflectors and you've got yourself crystal clear taillights just waiting for LEDs to be put into them. I guess there's no point of hiding it...I was going to do this mod at some point.

Just buy ome LEDs in any color you want, a circuit board, some resistors and you're all set. Oh and find someone who can wire things up for you.

Yea, I'm currently watching the one that's currently selling for 1 yen, so don't bid on it! j/k :) Though, the ones I'm watching don't have as many leds as the ones pictured above. I found some other custom made ones, the ones below are led, but I'm not really into the circle pattern.

I got some things from them and a few other before. i made LED turn signals for my 350Z bumper lenses since the Final Konnexion aero did not accomodate any signal light and the 350Z ones are just a reflector. Pretty simple to do...just know your voltage and wiring diagrams.

Easier said than done on making your own set... well, I should rephrase.. easier said than done making your own set not look like it's got a hundred little pinpoint LED dots sitting on a radio shack breadboard underneath your taillight lens. If you look at most OEM LED taillights, you'll get an idea of how to go about making a custom DIY setup not look so, well, DIY. Most all of them do not have the individual LEDs or even clusters of LEDs exposed so that you see them as little dots. Each unit is usually encapsulated in its own reflector housing... also most DIY LED taillights look DIY cuz the lights are aligned on a simple grid... straight across, straight up and down... looks like the thing is playing sudoku. OEM LED taillights usually have the lights situated in patterns that follow the actual shape of the taillight housing. Look at Infiniti FX35/45 taillights for example.. or on the inner sets of LEDS on G35s, where the rows of LEDs converge together at an angle complemetary to the slope of the taillight itself... stuff like that makes the LED setup look good instead of dong.
Hey dom... give me a PM if you want.. I got a little Nissan LED "secret" to tell you that'll allow you to get an awesome OEM-looking LED setup... and for amazingly cheap! You'll love it!

Yah I don't exactly know if it'll be a trend per se.. cuz not everyone's gonna know what they're doing, nor will they be able to succeed in their DIY LEDs... but I'm sure the interest will definitely increase
