As per the title i need to know the best tyre sizes for 18x9 and 18x10 wheels.

I am a little stressed about whether they will fit, so i need maximum clearance here. I saw 225/40 and 235/40 suggested on another thread, but will that be enough stretch for the front? Is 215/40 an available tire size? How hard would 215/40 and 225/40 be?

Basically i have gone for 15mm more than what is recommended by the Japanese vip mags, and while i am willing to camber the rear until it fits, the front only has limited camber capabilities...

215/40/18 will fit comfortably on a 18x9 and 225/40/18 will easily mount on a 18x10.

i have 18x9 with 215/35/18 and 18x10 with 235/35/10.* the back could have been 225/35/10, but i wanted a bit more tire.

keep in mind the tire sizes i mentioned in 35 series will be like rubber bands on your wheel.* they are surely overloaded on a large 4 door sedan, and surely decrease the OD, bringing the car lower to the ground.

OTVIP was using the wheels mentioned above with the 35 series tires on his q45. there's a picture in one of the threads.

Thanks! So 225s fit on the rear?

I think i'll go for 40 profile since, well i hate hearing this excuse but roads are crappy in my area ;) Not to mention i doubt a 215/35 has the load rating to support the front of my car.

Are 215/40 a common tire size?

Wish me luck... I found one place that would stretch tyres for me last time i looked... Hoping they dont balk at this

Yes they will. I have also run sizes like those on widths like that...and smaller. In most cases it depends on the application being used like viplife mentioned. I personally run 225/40/18 on 18x9 and 245/40/18 on 18x10.5 for daily use...but only because of limited sizing availability for the RT615's.

Well, on closer inspection (i.e. test fitting the rear wheels), It looks like i will need a decent stretch. I'll see how far i can get it stretched. Will post pics once its done later, but i'd say its pushing the limits of Y32 with normal fenders! haha
