:uglystupid2: just like the topic asks, so any insight would help. I know there is a pretty good price difference

Yes, there's a big difference in brightness and light distribution. Unless you are using single 3W led's. Those are bright as hell, but think about how the light spread would be. viplife did some singles before and they just didn't give the same effect as the 5 led ones.

good info man, ir is much appreciated. reason i ask is because at advance auto parts in my town, they had a set by APC, and what can i say, for 15 bucks it was worth a shot. I havent put them on to a 12v source yet, i guess i should just to test em out, but from the sounds of it, 5bulb cant be touched

APC is bound to be weak. Even if there were good single bulb kits, I wouldn't expect APC to be among them.
I have heard of and seen pretty amazing things with Lumileds Luxeon LEDs

i've sold over 20 sets of the single LED hyperwhite puddle light from my shop called pure performance (and i'm from hawaii btw), i can tell you from experience and not hearsay that all of my customers are very happy and very satisifed with their single LED puddle lights. not sure who else sells single LED puddle lights in hawai but i'm very happy with mine and installation was a snap. i stock them, i think i got like 15 more sets in stock. cheers! mikey

I too am speaking from first hand knowledge...I seen them with my own 2 eyes...maybe they just haven't gotten around to complaining to you yet...or maybe they're so cheap, they're not worth noting to their vendor...

But anyways...the decision is obviously yours...

Like I said, don't get the single LED one's...you'll thank me later... :D

I think what needs to be mentioned is what lumen the LED's used are capable of. It'll make a night and day difference in the performance.

i prefer single led's. the kits that use 5 make too much light and the circles come close to each other so its like an underbody kit...too much light IMO. but to each their own.

i've been using street glow single led's here at the shop. come 4 to a box. here's a pic of them in on a car, but keep in mind the car is bagged and down in this pic. so the sideskirts are resting on the ground...

I guess its also good to mention that you should space your puddle lights EVENLY or they'll look like that van above :2funny:

Well, I actually installed them that way so it was centered to each door and not just for looks... :knuppel2:..I'd rather not track crap in then make it look good for nothing... :-*

What happen to forum? Threads missing responses? Anyhow mine was:
Use hole saw of similar size slightly smaller than lights then epoxy them from inside the side aero.

It depends on how low you are as well. Obviously, the higher you are, the less light output will reflect off the ground.
