Anastacio here looking to buy a 2nd generation GS300. Are they all the same or do they come in different trim levels. Where can I look to get more info, for example which magazines should I look for. Sorry for the cherry questions but I gotta start some where.

Welcome to the site! That I know of:
GS300: IL6 also came in Plat. Edtn. (some extra mods compared to base model -mainly interior)& Sport Design
GS400: V8 also came in Plat. Edtn. and I believe Carson Tuned Package
GS430: V8

Carson Tuned and Sport Design are the power oriented branding.

You'll have to look up the specific details on each, but I believe thats it for 2nd gens.

I believe the sportdesign only came on the GS300.

also the grille on the 01-05 is different, the slats are thicker type of thing.

i would suggest getting an 01+ cause i like the taillights better haha i upgraded my 98 tails to 01+ Tails as they look more modern imo. so you will already have those, or if you dont want them you can sell them for a reasonable price and buy LED ones or whatever you like.

as for engine im in Australia so all we get is the 2JZ-GE 3L GS300. if i could have i would have got an 8 just for a bit more grunt & noise haha
