What's up, everybody. I got my friend's permission to start his build thread so here it is. As the title says, the shop put a Supra motor in it. That's all I'm going to tell you. The project car has been in the works for a couple months now.
I only have a couple flicks available on hand so please bear with me.
Enough talking. Here are the lame pict4rs:

Nope. I'm on the other coast. Check out the car next to it and you can tell when the project first started and where it's being done. ;)
edit: This is my friend's car and he gave me the green light to post this build thread. More info when he wakes up.

So that's the car I saw at Platinum VIP. It looks crazy! I can't wait to see it done. Kennedy was telling me about the cool wheel specs. =)

Ahh you weren't around when they mounted the wheels? Heck, I wish I was haha. All I can do is shake my head at the fitment.
Anyway, here's more basket weave for now:

I take it that's faux basket weave..since I don't see an actual weave, just what appears to be a diamond pattern? basket weave is actually really weaved together and has a very unique depth look due to the in and out of the weave. Looks nice though.

No excessive camber work will be done to the front.
Camber in the rear may be tuned to -10°, but I don't know for sure.

I personally prefer it if it had smaller diameter rims. Because from what i can see, its sitting at a fairly practical ride height and its already flush. I prefer impractical, silly, stupid heights... =)
But that fender work :giggity:thats just awesome!
golfkid777
11-19-2009, 09:06 PM
Ya, fenders needed to be radiused hard when they were built or smaller diameter wheels need to be used, that car stands tall!! Fenders arent my style, but the work is quality!!

The rear fender/door work is so sick. No one can say other wise. The front fender was nice too from the rear view until it got to the straight on view. I personally think its too much. I also agree with the high height of the car. We will see what color the car will get painted. Darker colors can hide lines better then lighter cars. Overall, I am feeling everything except the front. I rather wait to see it out of paint before I make a final judgement on it. Keep us updated

11-21-2009, 09:25 AM
In agreement w/ other posts. Rear is perfect!!!! Front is too anguler, like a Subie or truck of some kind. I see what the vision was going for, imo removing those hard lines in the front will match up and balance w/ the rears smooth lines...Clean work though! I mean theres just alot of un-needed space up in there...

Exactly. Color of the car will make or break :eek2:
after seeing this car in person, i can say that.... ITS FREAKING AMAZING. turned out so much better than i would have expected from this build thread. for me, it completely stole the show at wekfest (aside from maybe the other plat vip car with the browish maroonish interior, nicest interior ever) the wide body was executed perfectly...
