Been lurkin these forums for quite a while, finally proud enough to post my project though.
This has been my project for the past few years, college student incomes keepin' me down right now, but its getting there. Paint is obviously next, hopefully that will be knocked out soon.
Basic run-down is:
'93 240sx Convertible
R32 Skyline front end
BN Sports style kit
blah blah blah
30mm front/50mm rear fenders
18x10 (effective)-15 - 235/40/18 (will be downsizing to 225/35)
18x11 -17 - 245/40/18 (will be downsizing to 245/35)

Yes, wholly agree. Even rattlecanned black for now would make it look 1000x better. You are getting there tho, stick widdit.

i agree with the rest. do a temporary flat black or something. red white and black looks like a junkyard special. besides the paint the car is well o nthe way. r32 front is interesting dont think ive seen a vert32. my friend got a 13 vert with 15 front full instant gentleman.

I disagree with the rest. Rattle canning it is a waste of time.
I love the 'vert R32 style, looks good. Once you do proper paint it'll be very awesome I'm sure. Even now it looks really badass.

thanks guys, probably gonna plan a rattle can party in the near future. I've kind of had an ace in the hole for a decent single stage paint for cheap, but looks like its falling through. thats the only reason i've been holding off.
Yes, unfortunately the front is spaced 25mm. I found these used for a killer price, but the front bolt patter is actually 5x5 (Chevy) for some reason, so I am running a lug converter in the front. Back is legit though.
Camber is not officially set. My alignment appointment is set for a week from Monday, so I'll post it then. I am gonna bring the car down another inch though when I install my cheater camber bolts in the front. Also plan on going to a 225/35f and 245/35r tire setup once aligned.

I am border line if your planning to paint it in the next few eeks don't bother with a rattle can.
But being a broke college student (who some how can afford BN parts and r32 conversion ??)
I would rattle can it .

if you rattle can it...you'll spend alil more than the earl scheib $199 paint job special...
if your good at body work...the best paint jobs come out great because the prep...if you can prep the car great...A Cheap paint job wont look that bad....but you pay for what you get....

yeah def, if the car goes into a booth, or even gets rattle canned, I will be prepping the car. Just much more time and care will go into the process when it rolls into the booth.

You really wanna prep a car twice?
I love autobody, but man, after doing my car, the last I want is to do it over again.

I can see where the car is heading and it will look sick no question about it. As is, I would not drive it around with all the mismatching panels. Rattle can it primer black and it will look better

did u use to deal with cwings/gtp for your conversion?
VIP_vert_style
09-11-2009, 10:11 AM
I got the conversion pieces through GTP, now I deal strictly with Raceonusa since they use my car for advertising the conversion and a couple other pieces I've had.
Thanks for the comments guys, not much progress has been made, but i'll keep this up to date.

Seen this car at a local meet in St Pete, I honestly think it looks pretty good considering the mixed match paint.

Hmmm, I'm kind of wondering what bandwagoned to death means. I mean, it IS a 240, and hard to avoid someone calling it bandwagon or *****d out or whatever. Either way a lot of progress has been made and I'll have an serious update soon.

i've never seen anyone with mismatched panels that flow together so well. :smiley-rofl:
just hope no one else decides to make this a trend.
once in a while is cool, everyfuckingwhere makes certain things lose their luster.

As a die hard s-chassis fan (just sold my s14 of 6 years) not sure how I feel about the front...I love the vert and the wheels. I just love silvia front on verts, or the kouki front.

I had an r32 front on my s13 when I got it but it was a hatch and I hated how it looked. I must say it doesn't look as bad on the vert. Looks good man
