im not sure how you guys call it. but my president has a shifter wich if you want to get it out of park, you need to push the top down.

Are there any shifter knobs available to replace that? if not, can i disable the push down button and replace it for a normal shifter knob?

Check ebay. To my knowledge that push down button is required and cannot be removed or replaced. They make many shift knobs with the push buttons.

I riggd the one on my mustang years ago i jsut took out the spring but the button was pushd all the time .

not really safe if you have kids or if you have a drunkie passd out in your car since they can just throw it in to neutral..

Same is true with gate shifters though. I have done it a few times.

Yea you could. Pull off the shift knob and trace the button to exactly where the mechanism that releases the lock and either glue it into place or disable it. If the shift knob won't screw over it cause the threading is different you can drill out and/or fill in with black silicon/RTV.

srew that black silicon stuff on my 180sx dude put it on the shifter and a control arm bolt ...

plus I dont think that would be a great idea on a $200 shifter :pat:

Ill figure something out .

Just a dab homie. Some medical tape tape around the threads will work too.

i was thinking about buying a shifter for my Y33 .. but im coming with the problem that i want to keep the option of selecting over drive off or on ...

i have yet to find a shifter that simply slips over .. but ill guess ill keep the stock one for now .. its nice ... get it reupholstered ..

the OD button is just a simple on-off switch. just unplug it and put a new switch on the center console
