Hi, I'm new to the VIP scene so please take it easy on me. I have to say I'm loving what you guys are doing and I would like to make my Daily Driver vip inspired. It is a 2007 Saturn Aura XR. Here is the list of things I plan on doing over the winter.

Install curtains front and back.
Install JP neck rests
JP satin comfort cushions
JP tissue box
Eibach lowering springs or coilovers. (currently there are no coilovers made for the Aura, so I am researching to see if any other cars will fit, hopefully I can find some because if I don't I will have to settle with the lowering springs)
In-dash cd/dvd/navi unit
all new speakers in side
wheel spacers for front and back to get the wheels poking nicely
custom dark cherry table in the middle of the back seat.
Custom magnaflow exhaust with 4 1/2 inch oval tips

Please give me more ideas to get the look right.

New rims, and get custom springs made. We have a few places in Australia that do custom springs for any car - i'd be shocked if you didnt have a few places in the US that do it.

So yeah, new rims, 3-4" lower and you are set...

VIP styling is about getting the stance right. Then concentrate on accessories...

yea definitely need to do something about those wheels! Not sexy. I'm not hating, but those don't fit well and don't look in tune with VIP styling.

Why not go with air?

Thanks for all the comments guys,

Well I do plan on getting rid of the rims as soon as I can find someone to buy them. They were kind of an impulse buy.:pat: don't ask me why.
Also I just like the feel of springs and coilovers better. I have ridden in cars with all three and don't get me wrong air is nice, but coilovers are my first choice, then regular drop springs, then air. (just a personal preference). Plus I wanna be the only Aura rolling on coilovers.

Also I plan on doing everything at once so the drop is coming, I just started ordering the smaller parts first until I research and make sure I can get coilovers for the car.

Keep the comments coming!!

Maybe look for Opel Insignia suspension options.
But ya, drop and new wheels should be first on the agenda.

Skratch all the accessaries and put your money in new wheels and drop...all those jp interior bits dont make a car vip its all about wheels and stance.

agreed, throwing a bunch of JP accessories in the car before having anything else done to it will make it look like youre trying wayyy too hard. because of the fact that not only is your car not a platform car, but its FARRRRRRR from it, you needa to execute the exterior correctly before you even contemplate getting any pillows with the words junction produce on them.

Ok as I said I understand that stance is everything and I am doing everything at once. The accesories arn't entering the car until the stance is addressed. Like I said I am still in the process of looking researching and finding a set of coilovers that will work with my car. The rims are a given, I am getting rid of them as soon as a find a buyer. I'm not trying to sound like an a$$ but I am copletely aware that accesories don't make the car and my car isn't vip platform car, but that is why I am chosing to have my Aura look "vipinspired", nobody else out there is doing it. Anyways keep the comments coming.

Do you have those dent proof doors that saturn advertizes?

SinisterXR

Dominik-Do you have the names of the companies or contact information? I have already contacted a company in the UK and they are getting back to me. I am also gonna call Eibach to get a price on some custom springs. Let me know so i can get another quote from those companies

car needs to be reverted back to stock. once thats done, then proceed to getting the stance right and have someone else choose your wheels.

AllSprings: allsprings.citysearch.com.au/
Lovells Suspension: http://www.lovells.com.au/ (http://www.lovells.com.au/)

Custom springs from AllSprings is around USD$250 for all 4. Not sure about Lovells.

But really, i think you are making this harder than it should be. Are you telling me there are no companies in the US that custom make springs?

SinisterXR

Yes there are, but I am keeping my options open, and I havn't called any of the places in the U.S. yet to get a quote.

car .... then proceed to getting the stance right and have someone else choose your wheels.

Don't let ANYONE ELSE choose your wheels. Your car, your money, your decision.
Now that you've found this site I'm sure you'll choose a set of wheels with more VIP influence next time.

Just be aware... shipping from Australia to the US for 4 springs is likely to cost more than the springs themselves (we are out in the backwater here, the only boats/planes that come out this way are the ones that are lost trying to find east-asia)

alright we beat on him enough...

Good luck with locating the wheels man...

What's the offset on those wheels you bought and the bolt pattern?

SinisterXR
10-24-2009, 01:31 PM
I don't know what the offset on the wheels are off the top of my head but I can check and the bolt pattern is 5x110 and 5x114.3.
