this is prolly a horrible repost and i didnt feel like searching, im just bored at work and wasting time.......
well i was walkin thru pep boys iwth my dad the other day and he was looking for one of those steering wheel covers and i just happened tobe looking around i saw that pep boys is now selling puddle lights.... this struck me as quite odd.
i guess this means the puddle light craze is starting to get into the ricer category? i still think the puddle lights look badass but now that there selling them at pep boys does that kinda hurt the image of the product?
idk, im bored so discuss :idiot2:

well, real enthusiasts know what Puddle lights are meant for... let me rephrase that, we all know that Puddle lights are for more of the vip/dress up vans/wagons... yes, these will be played out because of it at pep boys kuz everyone that doesnt know where they originate in style come from will put it on their car.
Such as Fusas.... let say a guy with a civic sees it and thinks its kool... so he puts it in his civic... well, that being said, he might not be informed that certain styling goes with certain platforms.
You cant vip you civic hatchback.. but i guess you can try.. whoever gets vip stuff on a car that isnt even considered... remotely close to a luxury car will get the flamethrower.
Just like the bubble shift knobs... racers think its gay, possible the vip crowd too, but drifters think its kool...
oh well. I guess it doesnt matter, just as long as the car looks good.

correct me if i'm wrong:
but i believe that puddle lights were originally offered OEM on the German models (i know for a fact the volvo SUV comes stock with them, and i believe as an option on the mercedes and bmw)...but the main point of them initially was so that when you turn off the car and open the door, where you'll be placing your foot is lit up so you can see if there is any debris....or PUDDLES...hence the term puddle lights ;)....however, i will admit, I plan on getting some, but could care less about getting my feet wet, i love the way they look :D

yup, they have been getting very popular.
I no longer have the urge to get them...hah. ;)
i have a set but i no longer feel like putting them on my car anymore....i think i just may use them as interior accent lighting(under dash and under seats).
