alright, I gottanother noobish question for the Nissan VIP guys...I'm always seeing Y33s, Presidents, F50s, etc. in Vip style but I've never seen a Skyline Sedan in VIP style. This is basically a pic request...show me VIP Skyline 4doors please!

The Uras D1 Spec and D1 Spec 2 looks a little VIP.

I don't know. For some reason I associate the car to being a new school drift car than VIP.

I agree the VIP term is thrown around rather carelessly...I have seen videos of drift sedans which are pretty sweet but I never really see VIP Skyline sedans. Probably because they arent very luxurious.

*My first post here!***

There's a big difference between true vip and "vip style".

If it wasn't made to be a japanese luxury vehicle, it'll never be true VIP.

On another note, many people have told me my 2 door Skyline has a lil "VIP Style" to it. I'm not a poser i swear!! lol, it just so happens i have inspiration from many different forms of styles ;)

Something I'm (very slowly) working on myself at the moment.....again more EXE than VIP though.
To make it even more of a challenge mines an 'X (gives me some piece of mind on those trips up into the mountains) so in theory you need to run the same width rims front and rear.........however, offsets can be played with and fenders rolled to get a decent lip up the back.
Just ordered a set of 20" Trafficstars, toying with the idea of bags, and really need to find a decent looking kit to go on it. The Wald is nice but would prefer some other options in the EXE/VIP style.

Guess it will mostly happen over the long winter months up here in Calgary so slow progress indeed at the moment.......at least I've got the tints done already though.* 8)
I'm sure it can be made to look reasonable, just that it's not your traditional starting point I suppose.

I dont see how it looks like an S13 coupe though

feeeh...I don't see the resemblance at all. I find the R32 heads resemble a cross between early and late model S14 heads if anything.

but very nice Skyline!

On the first page, what are the wheels on the newer infinti g35 coupe. It is a single picture and the stand that the car is on says burnout. Also, what size are the wheels, 19inch or 20inch?

The Wheels are Kranze LXZ's.......as for size, just a guess at 20"

Thanks so much, I am buying a g35 sedan black in color, and with those wheels and the right suspension and wald lip kit, I figure it would really improve the overall aesthetics of the car! I am not sure if 20's will fit, probably 19's form what I have read.

skylineguv
11-04-2006, 07:46 PM
You can fit 20's on a G35 sedan without any bother.
If it's a RWD G you can get 20x10's on the rear with the right offset. If it's an AWD X like mine then you have to stick t the same width front and rear........just means you have to play with offsets to get a decent lip.

vipchris
11-06-2006, 03:18 PM
What suspension setup do you go with? Or will the 20 inch wheels look good without suspension modifications. I usually have a problem with aftermarket wheels on non lowered cars, the wheels tend to look poked out from the fenderwells. I have lookd at some staggered 18 and 19 inch wheel packages? What do you think would be the best wheel suspension upgrades?

skylineguv
11-07-2006, 06:32 AM
Not decided on suspension as yet but will probably go with air. I'm extremely limited with off the shelf options with the AWD X as the front dampers are different to all the other G's.
Choices are much better for the regular RWD G with springs/dampers, coilovers and air all available. Depends on what you want (or what you can live with) and how much money you want to spend I suppose.
G's don't look great with aftermarket wheels on standard susp. Certain styles of 18's tend to look a little small on the G so 19's might be the best way to go.

Thank you so much for all of the help. Just a note, on the intensepower.com website under cars/projects there is a black g35 sedan on 20inch 5zigen wheels and coilover tein suspension that is very clean. Very subtle and clean styling. The gravis wheels spokes extend all of the way to the lip giving the 20's more like a 21inch feel.

OK... Some people told be that cause it's black, it's lowered, tinted, and has aftermarket wheels that it's "VIP Style".

OK, so if mines not VIP style, how about this one? This one has 20"s and the wheels are more luxury style and less sporty. Would this one be considered VIP style?

Nope.
Black, tint, lowered, and aftermarket wheels means nothing, there's thousands of cars like that.

dvp
02-17-2007, 11:45 AM
VIP style is about wheel fitment and ride height and specific platforms. Here is an example of a non VIP platform that has VIP style

http://www.s2lstudio.com/car/after2.jpg

notice how the wheel fitment is very nice and how low the car is, it has the VIP style presence. If you were to change your wheels for a deep dish style and lower it further, it may carry off the VIP look.

Yea...nobody even takes the effort to learn about VIP.

People call any Lexus or Infiniti VIP now no matter what. It is pretty sad...it is inevitable... :idiot2: I have a feeling if we all just stick together and do things the right way, it would be hard for those "posers" to enter the core group of VIP enthusiasts (in America that is).

I was into it before hitting mainstream and I'll still be into it after it dies, which I pray it does.

I got a G35 .. and i know theres no way to turn it into VIP/BIPPU ... thats why im running around here to see whats up .. i love the style and would love to get into the style (late i know) ... so im hear lookint at what kind of cars are modded into VIP .. cause i cant affrod a 07 Lexus LS .. maybe in a few years .. but i feel like BIPPU will be too mainstream by then

So far I haven't many new members on here doing so. All I see are "Is my (insert car make/model) a VIP platform?" and "Can I make my car VIP?" threads.

VIP, like many other trends that reach the shores of America, will be *****d out like no other.

It's pretty common when it comes to window visors unless we're talking about some of the lexus applications, I actually like the way it breaks it up versus having them with a chrome trim on the visors.... that would ook just wrong on my car .... i can't imagine it really! hahahaha but thanks!

I agree but because of the bodystyle you'd be hard pressed to try to keep it from looking all sporty and that's one of the problems I was dealing with when I began.... most of the mods I started to do were aiming in that direction so I had to stop and do a lot of reading on here to verify what I knew was what needed to be done to attain a correct method of styling. Many people here have helped out along the way and including my business partner (fixedtl) and Robert from Luxury-Bippu-Style to name a few. This is why I can't stress enough guys that if someone offers suggestions you consider them a bit more seriously than just a thought and dismissal... they might have noticed something you didn't and be able to prevent you headaches and heartaches later!
