Suggestion - rims + drop before kit perhaps? This would even help you pick a kit.

dont you think a set of I-forged will look a little cheap on a SL? Why not go for some Leon Hardritt wheels, which look great on a Benz

thank you :)

That car looks amazing* :smitten: But I dont think I'll alter the body, other than fender rolling and a kit.* *I'll make sure the stance and offset are on point...which is why im here* :coolsmiley:

a 2003 sl500 goes for about 62k to 90k depending on mileage and condition... and fabulous rims and a kit might be too much?! *:idiot2:

i guess i'm confused... because it seems like we're just posting up pics of expensive parts for a car that's already expensive... maybe it's just me.

DriftGirl

It's not too much. ;D It's about what im willing to spend....regardless to how much I may have paid for the car. I dont WANT to spend another 20k on the car.* That widebody looks sick, stretched tires,etc....but It's not the direction I want to take with this car....at any price

I have been leaning towards that Fabulous after the silver pix were posted...but I know how I am: If I buy it, I'll be another 20k into it before summer gets here :buck2:

Maybe I'll do all of that when I start a VIP project someday.* *8)

I saw my old car on the freeway today....didnt miss it.

I think I had purchased the worst example of a MB product to ever hit the road

WOW, Ive learned soooo much since this thread was made back then. thanks guys! :runcoold:

This thread is hella old.

I sold the car a while back. I saw it today (on the freeway) for the first time and was thinking about the things I wanted to do back then.

I shouldve never strayed from my Lexus roots

Sometimes I look at my old posts and say dam I was stupid. :pat:

Experience is the best teacher. Information doesnt always stick from just reading things online, you actually have to go out and do things to learn from it.

Edit: what didnt you like about the Benz? Any issues? Maintance?

DriftGirl

Yeah, I have to agree: " experience is the best teacher"

Well, The car pulled to one direction and I couldnt figure out why. It had a clean carfax,Mechanical history,body,etc.. So I bought it outright, which is why I didnt want to dump another huge chunk of change into it at the time....to the dismay of a couple peeps....amazing.

Ended up sitting in a shop for almost 3 weeks, just a couple days after getting the keys.
A mechanic from Mercedes then came to the shop and confirmed that there was a problem and took the car to their place....for FREE. No one could figure it out

ended up getting a ton of suspension stuff replaced and then figured out the problem was in the rear of the car....at the 4th week

I dont finance cars but Its probably a car one should buy new from the dealer and not private party. I know the Mercedes product and this was not typical in any way....so its not a knock on them. The car was very nice and all you'd expect (and more) from MB.

So I documented everything and sold it a while later.
Live n learn....I guess

I saw the Fabulous SL at the 2003 SEMA show. This was prob the nicest car at the show. It was unique, cause no other JDM VIP manufacturers were there. I loved the car. The funniest thing about the Fabulous booth, they handed out free "Fabulous" box wrapped condoms.

Edit...and I just read this is an old thread. LOL...oh well good story.

one thing about the silver benz, not low enough at all. Anyway, you should look for AF/Imp At Mitsuwa. You'll get all the info you need. Even I take a gnader at times.
