So v4.0 soon to come - i think i have a good grasp on the exterior - It's time for me to think interior - My leather is great so im certainly going to do inserts with custom wood grain to match.
Anyone know some good sites to check out fabrics - I'm going for a clean look
I like the ostritch baby bird merlo - its almost black but all the wrinkles and ridges are red. I'm going for blended look or preforated checkered or black red LV damier. Where can I find or order custom fabrics.
Help?

Most of the places we go to are local shops or are ordered from Japan. Wife likes certain fabrics from Japanese shops.

urbansell.com for the LV/Gucci/Ect... quality is really good. I bought some burberry to do my buddies car and it was so-so so we didn't use it. Got some samples a while ago from them of their new stuff and its really good quality.

^ Riding the crazy cluster fuck wave of life. Poke around that Urbansell site. Get some samples if you can. The fabric is much nicer then you think. May want to stray from ostrich in a Y33, Burgy has that on lock ;)

yeah i was thinking about that black and gray LV damier vinyl for the inserts, tastefully used of course and get diptech to do me some black on black checkered on everything thats wood grain - like it will look black until a certain light hits it and then ill get all the mats done in that black on black LV damier fabric - i think it will be suttle enough because the seats are black - the interior of cars in japan dont even match the exterior - and of course abc pillars will be straight black but the headligner will be just an insert so it does not look gaudy
dont steal my idea you thieves

Not a pod system, but since they don't make them, that may work! Wonder if it comes in black or stainless?

I have a Q45 as well, and I've been thinking about getting all the woodgrain wrapped with a 3M vinyl. 3M has all that woodgrain vinyl, and the grey with black grain really pops out at me.
Perforated leather looks really nice, IMO.

I'm really interested in that. Would love to wrap my aluminum pieces in wood grain.
Don't mean to thread jack but it's pretty relevant to this. Anyone know where I can find mink fabric? Wanna wrap my headliner in it. Would it even work you guys think?

Mink seems like it would be too heavy for Headliner. But I am no headliner expert.

There are ways around that but you have to be creative. My headliner is way heavier than that...you'll all have to wait and see though.

haha, Sam and I have to finish a few things at the begining of next month ( I have family in town from out of state so it's on hold again) Once we get those done I will start to share. There are a few finishing projects to it that will come secondary but I will share once we have the the first round complete.

Nothing is too heavy for a headliner. It's all in how you fasten it and how you do it (the way it looks in the end aka what goes where.)
If its waterproof vinyl you can lay the contact cement heavy on both sides and they will stick together.

Felt to drop by in this thread being that i'm revamping my interior completely.
GP remember the method we talked about fastening the vinyl to the headliner via buttons then do a 'quilted' pattern with thin silver chain? That worked nice. Unfortunately it was not what I was looking for and tore it down again. :pat:
I do have to say that indeed, material weight is a 'speed bump'when it comes down to what you really want and to match the picture in your mind. I had to compromise the look i wanted with the fastening method I had to go through (buttons) and even though it didn't look bad AT ALL, it was not what I was looking for.
Looking for nice red fabric for my seats and inserts....

J, if you have or can get / borrow the 2009 July VIP Style, from page 213 to 229, it's nothing but interiors close ups, one after the other, some really nice ideas to take inspiration from.

most materials will be too heavy to do the headliner...it might last for a little while but over time it will separate from the headliner itself...

It's a 3M product. They make a dry carbon fiber vinyl in the same product line.

just throwin it out there but I have a xa and love the interior look of the 300c. I have a kid so I don't want to go gucci stuff or anything crazy so I'm designing the interior of my xa to look like the 300. Got the beige leather, tv and painting half the dash and accents are next. That's prob it for my xa and it's not too expensive. Just a thought for you. See a OE style int you like and copy it. It's pretty easy, cheap and a good way to not stay stock.
