I Know this has been touched apon in the past but what are your guys feelings with the newer VIP platform cars?
Although I like the current Fuga and aristo, they just doesnt scream out VIP to me. I also find the new S550 mercedes to have more of a VIP feel to it then the new LS460 but I am not going to judge the new LS460 until I see it in full VIP form. I am not bashing the cars I mentioned, they are all beautiful in their own way but they just dont do it for me. I hope Infiniti/nissian gets the new Q right.

I kind of know where you're coming from. Seems that way to me too. But I guess it's the "just got to get used to" phase.
Speaking of which, notice some of the newer VIP cars in Japan showing less flushness and aggressiveness? Seems that way for the newer "VIP car" platforms than previous models. Not very appealing IMO.

I think it's just gonna take getting used to. Compare a Y33 to an F50 and you can see the same kind of difference, but I think once the new models settle in (if they turn out to be appropriate platforms still) it won't take long for them to blend into the Vip scene.

Being real aggressive and "flush" is something that was never implemented as something all mfr's wanted to do. It's the guys that were into doing bodywork and custom flares that adapted the "flush" to the scene. Then people started to do it with stock bodies. Manufacturer's generally use mild offsets on their cars, they don't go really aggressive.

One thing i see with alot of the newer cars, is that they look quite tall, and dont have that sleek and low style that even a stock G50, Y32, Y33, UCF10/20 have. I parked between 2 luxury cars today, and from about 50m away you could see my roofline was a good 6-8" lower than them... I am obviously lowered, but not *that* much!!

drive both cars..
a benzo, then a lexus.. even try a bmw..
if your eyes was blind folded, u'd probably pick the lexus everytime..

thats why its even more important to lower the newer VIP chasis cars. If you slam them and have a kit that gets rid of the rounded bumpers than the car takes on the traditional VIP look. I know thats the case for the F50 at least.

Cars have changed, it's like comparing classic AMG's to new AMG's. It will never be the same. Try to put some of the older kits on these new cars and they look like shit. Currently there are cars that make 19's with a good offset look small even when lowered. Rooflines have been rising and worst of all cars are coming with bigger and bigger rims everyday.

I feel the same way, but everyone has their own prefference..

living most of my life through the 90's
I felt quite a change when ucf30 first came out
then the f50... f50 was the real shocker for me
but after seeing what can be done to them i regained faith in these vip platforms
so no more doubts for me... just sit back and watch the vip marques do thier magic
