purchased the car for 2k a few days ago. Has 100k miles and is one of the cleanest g50's I've seen. Drives great! It was owned by an old asian lady and she took real good care of it. the only problem is it smelled like cigarettes pretty intensely. I spent an hour trying to scrub out the smell from the cloth but about 90% of it is now gone so the rest will eventually just go away. It's all original, even has the Infiniti umbrella and the dealer keychain she bought it from. in a way, I feel kinda bad to do the President conversion and some VIP upgrades. I already have a set of Work VSXX rims waiting for it but I have to powdercoat the center piece. My neighbor is a painter and I think within the year we'll be painting the car flat black. I also decided on the Junction Produce kit within the next few months after the Pres conversion and was wondering if anyone knows where to get the kit or if anyone is selling their kit. Wish me luck.

Welcome to VSc..
Props to you for doing a G50 .... ..
nice score. couple things you need to address before you spend your money on fun stuff.
chain guides - 90-93 had plastic back guides which will break and cause catastrophic failure. they need to be updated to metal backed version asap or it's a ticking bomb. parts are fairly cheap but labor is intensive.
tranny - you need to install an external cooler asap. these transmissions are prone to overheat and go bye bye. cheap for the cooler, expensive to replace.
injectors and related parts - the injectors on the cars are prone to fail. you need to ohm test them to make sure they are functioning properly. if you need to replace them about half of them can not be accessed w/o removing the upper intake manifold. when you do that there are a few hundred dollars worth of small hoses you will need to replace. harnesses and knock sensors are a good idea while you're in there. even if everything checks out you need to expect this expense sooner or later, keep the funds handy.
check out the q45 forum on http://forums.nicoclub.com/ for the best maintenance/repair info. search cause most of the info is burried.

Where would you buy the transmission cooler. Third gear does stick some time. Is that a sign of a failure. How easy is it to install.
As for the chain guides I know that's gonna be a pain in the ass. I'll probably hold off for right now Until I can get somebody to help me because I drive it very light.
And thanks for the tips
i bought a b&m 70268 off amazon cause it was the cheapest i found it. instructions are included and it's a simple install.
i wouldn't drive at all until the guides were fixed. for all you know they're all ready broken and just haven't cause a problem yet.

Great post, look into these items first. '90-'93 G50's had a lot of little pesky issues. G50's are great cars and fun to modify, if they run.. haha
Good luck on the build, I'm looking forward to seeing it progress. Why flat black though?
