As stated in the title i am leaving for Tokyo on Tuesday, for 6 days on my way to Europe :D
Can anyone recommend some places i can visit during my time there? I really only have one day to go 'car shopping' as i will have my gf with me :tickedoff: but its all good, i plan on returning some time in the following year anyway. I'm staying with my old host family in Nishi Koiwa if it makes any difference
So yeah, i already plan to visit Car Friend, and a Hasegawa/UpGarage... And I found some parts shops in last months VIPStyle mag but not sure if there is anything I should be looking out for?
Any tips?

For what it's worth, you could hit up an Autobacs. They do sell Garson products. I have realized in my time spent there, you need wheels to get ot any reputable sjop. And then they don't have a lot to see. Best thing is to figure where you want to go and e-mail them. They could arrange for a couple demo cars to be there when you get there. They like to amuse Giajins interested in their product. I did that when I went to W-Blood and most of the vans were there. Maybe you could even get to a Yellow Hat or even better, Yellow Corn. They sell Automobile paraphanelia like Autoart, Team jerseys, F1 stuff etc, etc. Have fun. Go to Mega Web at O-Daiba if you want. That's a cool place with lots to see and it's free. Hang out near Chinatown/Yokohama on the main roads. you'll se some badass cars there too. I get emotional when I see the EXE/VIP vans rollin around there. It's so cool.

Uptown, this is certaintly not my first time to Japan - i lived here for a year when i was 18, so there is definitely no touristy things to do. Currently i am having the time of my life remembering all the things i used to do here (drinking in Harajuku and Yoyogi koen, nomihoudai karaoke), and its all very good
I have seen a few VIP cars around, but nothing crazy yet. I get the feeling that most of the widebody etc cars are not in tokyo, but in the country areas.
I will be going to Hasegawa and some other places on Saturday or Monday (Havent decided yet). Car friend is actually quite a fair way out of tokyo so i wont be going there this time; I am DEFINITELY coming back, so there is always next time
I'll post pics when i get back (7th May), but i'm really enjoying myself - tonight i ate puffer fish (sashimi) and some other fish which i dont know, but i do know that it was still moving when the plate came out!
YUM!

Daikoku Futo is located off of the Rainbow bridge. You'll see the off ramp sign. It says it in English and Kanji. Usually Friday and Saturday nights. If its cold or raining, usually it's pretty dead.
I would recommend Megaweb, and the mall around that area that is designed to look like 1940's japan

Daikuko is a rest stop on Yokohama bay bridge on the Bayside Highway, not Rainbow Bridge. That is in Tokyo itself.
