Baller Status! Photography in the studio. WALD/Lexus IS 250

SO GREAT TO BE BACK!!
Back in Aug/Sept. for some reason Charter Cable and this site stopped letting me gain access to VSC and I have had to post only from my 3G ipad. I could not get on from Charter period. Now just today I clicked on my link and walla I can get it!! Man those months kind of sucked for me not to get on. But I am back!

PS: I had so much retouching after I processed these images that I did NOT take
out the tire tracks. I felt at the time they were cool looking enough. But after some
comments and thinking it over I will retouch them and take them out. Just not
today lol!

Well I have been wanting to test out the large studio for a long time now. Just
happens I was able to get a free spot and a nice Lexus IS referred to me from
James Church. I had told Kenny Jung, the car owner that I was different. That I
would not shoot just any street corner. That I did not want to just do what
everyone (allot) else does and call it a day. Why do a shot at all if it wont kick ass
over the usual shoot. We looked at location ideas over a month or so and tried to
get a shoot going but nothing was good enough for me to put the energy into
actually doing a shoot. I mean it’s not like there was a paying client so why not do
what I wanted the most and go for broke.

So here we are. Day set, studio time allocated, security and staff informed.
Assistant on hand. Crane powered 15′ Softbox with 12 Broncolor Strobe heads,
powered by two A8′s and two A4 packs. My trusty Hasselblad H3D II 39, 40
megapixel medium format digital system and I Kenny’s Lexus. My NSX called and
cancelled and my Model did as well. Wow did they regret it!

1st and 3rd are my favorite! black is so hard to capture, and i feel these two give the most detail and yet enough contrast.

Thanks for your comments and crit. Yeah Black is a challenge. However I actually planned to do a much different shoot. I was going to shoot only some highlights adn leave the background and allot of details black. I am working on some of the other shots not to come closer to what I originally planned. Number 8 was the kind of thing I was going to do allot more of but it just did not work out that way. With that said I did not intend to get it like maybe some Scion adds or other car ads present their cars like every detail is showing and everything is polished like it's not even real light.

For me, even though I like those ads they are not real. Light does not work like that at all. I wanted a moody lighting with sharp edges and contrast. I wanted a slick look and to go a bit beyond the traditional. It's totally me.

So much joy in this shoot. Can't wait for the next one!!

lol it's called class and finesse brother :) Road Runner? I know what you mean but.... She was great and looks great. A littel small but great. If you read what I wrote she was last minute as my model called and cancelled. My ohter model would have pleased you allot more as she had allot of the right curves for you Auto fans. But having a model was really to please the car owner. I was gonna leave it out cause it's really just filler. Every one ooh and ahh's but the photo sucks and the cars beauty and design expertise gets lost in a cloud of "same ole shit" and tits and ass.

With that said I do like the tits and ass :) Just like to have them in my living room or bedroom :)

There will be allot more shoot over the next year. Well not allot but enough. Maybe I can get Lisa Kim Fleming or Amy Fay (If they ever respond to my formal invites).

LOL! My bad... I actually forgot cause I did do some darkening and was not paying attention when replying to a post. Duh! You got me on that. Yes it's a dark Grey.

I am glad you like it. I do too. I knew it would be killer when I was planning it. It was the planning that really was the hardest part. I had no "Staff" doing the work for me and no extra $$ for a budget to hire models and more assistants to hold the huge ass soft box wires out of the way of the car etc. etc. So many loop holes and red tape and kissing the right ass.

But once I got the OK I knew I would have some good shots. At least folio shots. But I was happy to show people as well cause it was not a "job" for a car & driver it was on my own. I learned allot and next time I will be allot more efficient and ready. I hope Lexus gets to see these lol!

Yeah but her BF is a real baby. He's Egyptian and really controlling. Called me out on FB cause I was being friendly with her. Not in anyway disrespectful. I had even taken her to an upscale fashion show He's one of those really insecure types and i nsaid he was being a punk calling me desperate or some shit.

So I think that might be the real reason she canceled :) hehe! But now that she sees the results I don't think she will cancel again.

By the way I was not all offended by the comments. But I realized the images of the female were for a different audience and were not good enough for allot of the car lovers. So why keep them up if they are distracting from my purpose. All in all a good learning exp. for my next shoot.

It's corp. level shoots we are talking about. I don't talk about prices really on a public forum. But I can work out deals and do day rates an such since none of us here are Toyota. My prices for you guys would be considerably cheaper.

No the model shots are gone. There were allot of she looks like a chicken comments. It's all good but I am just wanting to move on with the subject. If some one wants a model on a shoot I have them available though. Just not the one I shot. It was last minute and more a Fashion thing than a bathing suite import model thing.
