I've seen a gold LS400 rollin around Joliet with some deep hammers.

that was me. I sold it a couple of days ago though. I kept the wheels though. The guy I sold it to was asking me about how to use the switches to lower it and raise it :) anybody wanna buy my wheels?

ahh you figured right :) well I have too many cars and it was either get rid of this car or my 80 malibu and I chose to keep my malibu. I still have my beater gs300 and I've thought about keeping the wheels for this car but then I would have to get the stance and then it would start all over. :p

jbo
08-09-2007, 05:20 PM
What type of suspension was on the LS and what do you want for the wheels? The 80 Malibu must be pretty nice...can't be that poor if you own several cars what's the real skinny?

just something I did. 2 450vair compressors, airide strutbag shocks and some manual valves. I want 1600 for the wheels. I can't sell them because I don't have a camera. I actually sold the ls so I can fund the rebuild on the malibu.

yup, there is not much of a midwest movement on the VIP stuff. It totally sucks. Ah well.

thats true but in a way its better. I've left my car parked everywhere and I felt noone would ever steal it. People would go crazy about the air but not the wheels or anything. I kinda like it that way. more exposure means more problems.

soon, very soon (within the next 8 months) we here in the midwest will have a connection for the VIP parts and lifestyle. I don't want to release much info right (jbo already kindda knows the deal) but I know of a shop opening that will be catering to the VIP culture. More to come as I find out more. I do know that there is talk of stocking certain ture VIP platform wheels and other misc. parts. (Work and AME are in the discussion right now.) The company is trying to cater to more of the VIP/ high end customers and less with the "tuner boyz".

Only event I've had the pleasure of making it to was at Autobahn. I didn't do very good cause I had a terrible night/morning before the event and was feeling like crap.

I'm kinda undecided what I want right now, but so far I know I want something more luxury driven with a nice smooth ride. Something 4 door rwd. And lately I've been even thinking about an automatic. With all that I've been really fond of the Lincoln LS. I would like to get an older Q45 and go crazy with the vip style, but I want something newer and also something I won't really want to do much to cause I need to save money for more important things right now.

checking in from MN. You guys would be AMAZED at the VIP scene here. I don't know if anyone is on here but this is what i've seen so far:

Spotted twice: White Wald (i'm positive) LS400 (98-00) exposed exhaust, DUMPED, monotone, sweet decklid spoiler.

Spotted often: Black kitted 98-05 GS, slammed, i've only seen it moving there is alot of lip, JP (style) tails, tint.

Plus there are countless GS/LS and infiniti's driving around with wheels and a kit but the 2 above are the only ones i've seen that I would label "VIP".

Anyone on here? I would love to see more pictures of that LS. I had one of the same generation (99) mine was black, I always loved white ones. This one is top notch.

Checking in from Milwaukee,WI. I have an '04 BMW 745 and '04 Lexus SC430 that I am looking to add some VIP-style to. Right now the 745 is sitting on 22" and the SC430 on 20". Both could use a more aggressive stance, air ride, and mild kits though.
I am more excited about doing the 7-Series though. I am looking into a Wald kit, very aggressive 22" forged wheels, and a custom air ride since no one makes on for this car.

The wife and I fly into LAX on the 2nd of October. We'll be staying a day or two with my boy Ray (forum member swifty949) in the LBC then start our 1600 mile plus journey to STL in the Jag (we're taking like a week to do it so we can hit all the views and attractions..haha). Got a house in Florissant waiting for our arrival (and the Benz is getting shipped the whole way there). I'm pretty stoked...

Might want to reconsider Florrisant...not terribly bad, but definitely doesn't have the best reputation of places to live in St. Louis. Of course, if you already have the house...

I'm in the process of trying to get out of here and move back to KY. Not a big fan of this town, other than the car scene. If I'm still here though, which is a possibility considering the housing market, definitely be in touch.

Haha, I've been trying to but you're never on!!! Or at least, not on when I'm on. The area we're moving to is a brand new development area (all new houses)..so I'm not sure which area he's speaking of that's not the greatest. Haha, either way..we already have the house so I'll make due with whatever the circumstances. I'm originally from Philly, it can't be that bad..haha.

We fly out to LAX on the 16th, but the car won't be ready to pick up in LBC till the 20-22nd. Depending on how quickly they unload I guess. So it looks like a few days before Halloween is when we'll arrive in the STL since we're taking our time with the road trip to sight see and what not. Maybe have an introductory meet just to put faces to names when we get settled in?
