So I've been reading over the forum, searching and coming up with ideas to take my Lincoln Ls over to the Vip side...

Right now the car is completely stock, I'm in the process of gathering the parts I need to build it straight through the winter and have it ready to hit the street come spring.

Here is how she sits right now

http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu335/jeffreydoxseephotos/JEFFSPICS002.jpg

There definitely is not allot of aftermarket parts for this, but I have narrowed it down to the right kit, spoiler, roof spoiler.

The fenders are going to be custom made..the rims unsure yet due to the fact that once its lowered I can then figure out what size/offset to go with.

Here's the photoshop I did to show the outcome.

Let me know what you think

I would love to see this actually done. I think a full faced wheel like a Dh or something would really emphasize the vip feel.

that looks good - gotta consider brakes with that open face wheel - not sure the after market for the LS - but yeah the chop is dope

Next to nothing, in reality mostly everything is going to be custom. The fenders are going to be one off and im using a kit on the market for the ls and changing it up to fit the style.

DO IT FOR THE U S OF A YEEHAAAA!! excited for this one.

I wont let ya down (no homo)...time to show that the 300 isnt the only domestic car with potential, plus its never been done.......

Ive been thinking that, the wheels in the chop were for ideas, but this car sucks for fitment, getting the rims and tires right are going to be a bitch.

Plan on winning like charlie sheen

I like the different platform and the direction you're going in.

Thanks, after the q45 issue this was the perfect choice, I love the luxury and the sport it provides, just have to keep up with the little issues with the ls.

isn't this based on the same platform as the s type or something? s type r could be a good source of parts (if i'm not mistaken).

yep it is, i'm not sure what parts I could utilize, the susp fits in perfect but doesn't offer much in the change in lug pattern or fitment changes.

I am open to suggestions bro.

the s type seems to give you some decent coilover options. brakes on the type r are nice iirc. i would expect to run adapters, or buy custom wheels, cause you got that lame a** 5x108 pcd. fitment is fitment, if your car doesn't hold as much just get what fits. f**k the numbers. flush is flush whether it's a +45 offset or a -45.

word...I looked into the adapters to run a 5x4.5, problem is with the push out the last LS I saw running them and Cobra r rims pushed them out way past the fenders at +24 offset. The rims will definitively have to wait till its down to see what can be done. I knowim not going to have a huge lip option, ill make due.

I just may have to run stock 16" with spacers..lol I joke

I will have to look into the coilovers and brakes, thanks for the great info

you can get custom made adapters as small as 15mm these days. look for something in the 9.5" wide range with a 40 something offset and i'm sure you can make it work. the good news is there's always a lot of dope wheels in these specs for cheap because nobody wants them. their loss = your gain.

Ive heard some good things about this place and they seem to offer them at a decent price with numerous options.

So I decided to do a little work to the headlights...

One is one out, little shot of the engine bay, nothing big...

http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu335/jeffreydoxseephotos/IMG_20110721_064644.jpg

hummm what am I up to...

http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu335/jeffreydoxseephotos/IMG_20110721_063124.jpg

after 5 min in the oven on 280 and with a little work, the headlights were separated.

http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu335/jeffreydoxseephotos/IMG_20110721_063936.jpg

afters clearing the turn signal and painting the bezel I re-assembled the headlight by reheating it, setting back in its place, and re sealed it using black RVT sealant...

http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu335/jeffreydoxseephotos/IMG_20110721_080015.jpg

and both done and on the car....the bezels are a little darker then the color of the car, but over all Im happy with the outcome.

to solve your wheel issue. get your hubs and rotors redrilled. F*ck adapters. 5x114 or 5x120 it, you will be glad you did. There is a lot of wheels that dont need dish or super concave. also, dont be afraid of adding a bit of camber, and rolling your fenders more than most.

Welcome to the custom world. You got a car that is harder to do than the f50s and the y34s as far as suspension goes. Look at, and study your suspension. Since it is close related to jag it helps, but how close is it to ford? can you cross over spindles for bigger brakes, like mustang stuff. is it only a mod and a ball joint away? take measurements on stuff. Set the new way for LS owners who dont want to just dub it out.

Been working with some ideas lets see what you think...

I'll be going with either the wings west or Jt kit which give a nice surface to work with...Ill be getting rid of the exhaust holes and moving them to the middle of the bumper...

Wings west rear http://www.bodykits.net/images/bodykits_net/167682/00.jpg

Heres the inspiration ill be going for with the exhaust, I just think it would look so hot, notice the silver at the bottom of the bumper, that's the exhaust tips/

http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h1...g9640/osv6.jpg (http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h14/natedawg9640/osv6.jpg)

This is about as close as Ive found, and I think it fits perfect..

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FLO-15302/?rtype=10

or two of these together, flush mounted to the bumper in the middle lower portion of the bumper

Definitely liking this build. The Wings West bumper seems perfect, but imo I wouldn't do the center cutout. Personally, I'd look into exhaust tips that flow upwards into the bumper like the LS 460. I think the tips in the first link would flow perfectly that way.

I have a question though. Do you plan on running HIDs?

Ive been looking at different options for the tips, I think he center cut out would keep everything uniform since the trunk trim and tips would be lined together and the style of the recessed tips will fit the flow of the trim perfectly.

I wanted to do this and not the turn down so that from the back to side view you it would be all smooth lines from the bumper up and to the side. I feel that once the rims and tires are on, that with the flare style fender lines and a little poke that view would be less clean with the tips sticking out....

Im not sure if i conveyed that the way I wanted to. Im gong for clean smooth lines to compliment the cars already smooth yet aggressive appearance.

As far as the lighting, not really sure what i'm going to do, I have some ideas floating around but nothing to set in stone.

so I figured Id post an update:

Since I last posted I did a little interior update, it had a leather shifter and a lame flip out cup holder..so changed it up a little with a burl wood shifter and open counsel.Ive only had the car for 8 months and started with updating it.next will come real mods.

http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu335/jeffreydoxseephotos/IMG_1480.jpg

had all the chrome color matched and slapped some "new" rims and tires. I love how they look on the car.

http://http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu335/jeffreydoxseephotos/IMG_1472.jpg

So this has been a busy couple of days with some new parts going on the LS...here's the new pics...

Decided that no kit on the market matched were I wanted to go with the car:

http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu335/jeffreydoxseephotos/IMG_1539.jpg

http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu335/jeffreydoxseephotos/IMG_1540.jpg

http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu335/jeffreydoxseephotos/IMG_1541.jpg

http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu335/jeffreydoxseephotos/IMG_1543.jpg

so the Mach 1 lip with the factory sides and rear valance will be color matched..Still needs a slight adjustment in a spot or two. Overall it looks exactly like I had in mind, not bad for a lip made for a completely different car..

You can see how the front matches what I had in mind with the original rendering.

http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu335/jeffreydoxseephotos/JEFFSPICScopycopy-2-2.jpg

Here is an idea of the tips, just placed on should be welded up by the end of the week:

I'm go glad I went with these, in the end they give the exact look I wanted them to do. While I wanted to do the center exhaust that got scraped with the body kit. I think this looks better anyway.

I cant wait to tackle the stance come spring and put the painted lip and skirts on it. While its not going to be over the top like some of the cars on the forum it will how ever be simple and clean.
