nice to have you join us. Im glad to see that you have a basic understanding of the underlying themes that tend to dominate the styles that you will find here. I hope you keep active and I cant wait to see you get a Q.

Hey nice to meet ya
Did you purposely make your car look super ghetto?
its a beater, there is soo much damage on this thing that the next crash will total the car. I went from looking good, then to looking like ass, then to looking crappy so... if i never crash again eventualy it will be pritty nice... im thinking bout doing an s15 front end and retireing it and just make it a daily driver and remove the welded diff. So with that in mind i think you know what i want to do with the G50 unpracticle as I know it is, but it will change the way people think of drifting forever...

Hmmm my friend I sold blackie my old zenki G50 to took it to a drift event in socal the first weekend he had it.. him and another friend of ours who competes professionally took it on the track and had quite a bit of fun with it... they said the "secret" was to stuff an empty cig pack to jam the ebrake release handle open, and just get on it. Dang this was..... almost 2 years ago? G50's drift is very slow and easy to control... long wheelbase goodness. But it's not a drifting car, so it's sorta futile to do it for anything other than fun every so often... definitely not cut out for competition or anything.
Or to do it in the rain and mow some grass

yeah yeah yeah... what ever. I just like the idea of drifting a 4door, its big in malaysia (partly due to the fact that 4 doors are around 8.7kRM* about 4k US* cheaper)
besides, how meny american drivers are drifting a 4door?

but once I get the G50, it MIGHT get a motor swap, but it WILL be manual

Rhys Millen drifts a four door. plenty of people do it in Japan, they have whole clubs of just four door cars. here in america, they started drifting the 300c, and the caddillac cts. so it's not like its some [gay jdm voice]hot new trend![/gay jdm voice] or anything.
thats right, ITS NOT! and thats ONE of the reasons I want to do it before it DOES become popular.
You really think your something special eh Cowboy? ::)

nah not andy.. though I think andy got a turn driving it that day too. And your approach to the car is not very VIP... and are you just trying to drift it for fun, or competitively? Cuz it ain't gonna be the latter that's for sure.
with the right things done to it, the competitive spirit can be found.

But depending on your skill level, going with a harder to drift car will just pretty much drive you out of any contention for true competition.
my fear is definitely coming true though: people will approach Q45s with the same mentality they did 240s... claiming that fucked up body panels and mismatched paint is awesome because it's a true sign of the car being driven... but that's not awesome. What's awesome is truly driving the car, and if you fuck it up, you fix it and repaint it and still make it look presentable... i.e. you don't want it to look like something your parents would be embarassed to be seen driven around in if you decide to go over to their place to take them out to dinner. Shitty looking cars are all fun and games when you're a young, poor student, but it just irks me when folks get delusions of grandeur and pass off their lack of funds as signs of being "hard core." And then they have the audacity to say people with clean, nice looking versions of their cars only "care about show"... guess what: most of those nicer looking cars are driven by better drivers, too (who happen to also end up with better jobs in real life to maintain their car's apperance AND performance... suppose it could have something to do with the mentality of not wanting to settle for crap, and having the drive to strive for something better than crap), and are driven just as hard, if not harder. It's just those owners don't take pride in showing off, or passing off crap as gold. I so hope Q45s don't go that same way... but we know it will. But it's all good... most of those folks will come and go like they did with corollas and 240s, when the "next big thing" comes along...and most will also grow up, and their delusional personas will hopefully also eventually dissipate as they mature and realize, wtf was I thinking?!?

Oh shoot I forgot to add my og analogy:
It's like showing off to people that you got AIDS cuz it "proves" that you get a lot of ass... but then at the end of the day, you got the AIDS.
