ok let me first start by saying Hi, I own a honda Prelude 5th gen.

ok stop before I have to get the flame suit on let me explain =)

I understand I do not have anywhere near close to anything regard say a VIP car or even a VIP style car hell I don't even have 4 doors.

Now while I have always liked the style when it's done correctly on the correct cars(and on a few cars "stretching" for VIP status) simply put I understand a full VIP styled or influced honda prelude wouldn't cut it.

A little background, I have always been and will continue to be a performance minded indivual that being said at this point in my life I simply can't afford to have my car down for the amount of time needed to make my dream car NOR will it be a I4 FWD platform(personally my "fast" car would be a 300zx modded to hell and back!)

here what I'm going to be shooting for with the prelude

after a long brainstorming and constantly changing my idea of what I want with my car I have finally settled into an idea that I can afford and like at this point in my life.

I'm looking to have a "VIP influnced" prelude basically something to the tune of

an aggressive offset 5-7 spoke rim with lip(maybe a foose style wheel) 18-19 inch

this is the only kit really I found that would reenforce the style(opinions)

Thinking about maybe adding the mugen style spoiler to the back
http://www.visracing.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=26_29_45_57_662&products_id=1686

with this kit I obviously would have to firgure a way to do something of dual exhaust but again being performance minded I would not have to sacrifice that aspect too much.(I'll firgure something out)

HID retrofited headlamps

Painted would be a dark midnight blue metallic that would look black in the shade and at night

Now the prelude is considering a sports coupe with a tad bit of luxary in mind

so in essence I am trying to build on that I would like to give it that luxary("VIP influced") look while still keeping the sporty aspect for it. This is the reason for a 5-7 spoked rim and the spoiler

Right now the car has tint(limo all around medium on the windshield, please don't get on me about how I probably cant see or how illegal it is, I know its illegal and I can see fine)

It is on Tein Flex coilovers
AEM CAI and greedy exhaust
Hondata S300 waiting for my header to go in and then to get tuned(SMSP or RMF)

Overall what do you guys think about the idea, I only used the phrase "VIP infulenced" to help give an image in your head.

Thanks for you time I know this was a long ass post.

EDIT: sorry I totally forgot about the inside of the car

I was thinking getting the OEM CF trim piece from honda of Japan(piece wraped in CF NOT that M3 stick on shit), Navigational unit, and the install a system including a 10inch sub and high end speakers

Interesting plan, but i have to say that i am not liking that visracing kit. A drop and wheels will make any car look good, but i think you will ruin it with a kit like that...

No. Just, NO. Please, don't try to 'influence' your car with vip taste. It's not going to work, and, that kit, is a ricer body kit from 1998. Come on now...

Yah, he's got a point.
i mean with all that shit you end up putting on your car,all that money can be saved to buy a fuckin vipcar.

It's a funny thing what a nice cruise in your car can do...

with all the stress of everything in life a nice time alone can really put things in place.

but yeah re reading my plan it's not going to work, the styling cues and everything about the car go against the plan listed above.

The prelude is more of a sports car with luxury added then a luxury car with a bit of sport added.

As for the kit honestly thats like the closest thing to a subtle kit for the prelude that I can find in actual bumpers but again not working for the car.(beside the mugen kit)

thanks for the replies and the reassurance =)

in the future I'll probably look to a better platform to do this work to, but until then I can read and learn about the style so when I do come to a point to attempt it I can do it right =)

as for the lude, I'll keep most the work in the engine suspension department, thats what makes me happy now and it just took a nice little run around the canyons and back roads to remember that

wow that's the sad part...

anyway, keep the lude as a sporty car...you want VIP? get the real deal.

thanks for not taking what we said the wrong way either. with all the new people on the boards, you have a better attitude than them. Read and learn, and you'll progress just fine here. You can still get the 'vip look' down with suspension and wheels, but please, DO NOT put that kit on it.
