Project Suede....G50, True Platform

I had an Infiniti I30 that I did as VIP-styling. Sold it....got a 92 Q45. Yes, true platform now.

Cosmetically it is alright, aside from the maroon paint. Interior needed SEVERE work. Brown and tan was a no go for me. The drivers seat was ripped to hell, the passengers seat was a little ripped...rear seats were ok but dirty and sticky. Carpet was badly stained and the car was a train wreck of sorts if you looked inside. But hey, it was only $900 and it had 136,000 original miles.

So began the conversion process...long and oh so bitter sweet. A lot of blood, sweat and of course pain and anxiety, lol. I ripped the whole interior out, put in black carpet and mint condition black leather seats. Redid the dash, console, pillars, etc in black and gray suede. Just finished putting most of the car back together today (still trying to locate black door panels)....i will start with a current pic and then post progress pics leading up to this final product:

I had brown interior in my g50 too. Found all black in a junk yard for $200. Sueded the head liner and a pillars, fun times :)

What kind of suede did you use? I've been wanting to do this for a while but couldn't figure out what material won't be killed by the sun.

Havent been on here in a while...been busy trying to figure out a problem with my fuel tank/pump.

But thanks for your comments...as for the interior, I bought the seats and carpet and other misc. pieces from a guy off of NICO....paid $500 for the seats alone (yes, my wife just about killed me)...but $375 of that was the freight charge alone! All the way from ND to WA....there are no good Q's here in the junk yards, so I jumped on it. Not a single rip or crack in these seats!

I am getting black door panels from the same guy...should have them after the first of the year. Then my interior will be done, aside from tint. Then comes the fun part of doing a President rear end, JDM headlights (I am staying grille-less) and black paint.

As far as suede, I am not sure what kind...I bought it from JoAnns. I literally got "just enough"...I think it was something like 5 yards of black and 4 yards of gray for $60.

This was when I did the main portion of the dash, remainder of the center console and was still working on the lower portion of the dash around the transmission tunnel.
