Hey Everyone,

I was just wondering if any of you would mind doing a photochop of a 2007-2012 Holden Caprice (sold in the states as a Chevrolet Caprice) VIP styled. I'm trying to work out what I should get for my next car and these are pretty easy to get hold of here in Australia so thought I'd see what some people's take on it would be because I think they could probably turn out quite good.

The model I'm looking for is the WM Caprice as pictured below:

not remotely close to vip but a decent drop and wheels makes this car a boss:)

Yeah I think I've seen that one on the internet before. Just thought I would throw it up in the photoshop section see what anyone could come up with I know it's not traditional but thought might be interesting to see.

if you want to build VIP why not buy a true platform???

Because thinking outside the box and incorporating the style into something different expands the scene and brings it to a new level if the car is executed properly. Much like the way Thailand does camrys, BAHC's TL ....

With that said

How about a malibu

Just wanted to see what people could come up with for this car out of interest and like JDOX said its just something different

I understand the idea of thinking outside of the box, but IMO some of these just dont capture the essence of Luxury that the VIP style is supposed to embody. These photoshops definately make the cars look cooler than stock, but to me the VIP style is more than just a stanced look and four doors. To me its about having the largest body car in its class with loads of interior room, a big v8 motor, and a certain projection of luxury status, which usually relate to the make/model. But hey, to each his own. Either way, great photoshop skills.

The part you mentioned that I have bolded is exactly what the Caprice is in the Australian market from Holden as alpha has also said. The current photoshops in this topic are similar cars but not this exact model.

The reason I wanted to see what this model could become is because it is exactly what you stated a VIP style car should be and would be from my undestanding the only Australian model that could come close. Also, taking the GS300 which appears to be one of the more common platforms the Caprice has a big v8 which it does not, is larger in every dimension and at least to me does represent a luxury status.

There is no need to get defensive. Like I said, to each his own. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I was just sharing mine. The point I was trying to make is that Chevrolet is not really considered a luxury brand to most people. And this is coming from a guy that loves to build Camaros. It would make more sense to me to try this with a luxury GM brand such as Cadillac (like Agi is doing). But hey, if you like this then go for it. My bad if I offended anyone.

Wasn't offended and sorry if it came across that way ultimately wanted to see what could be done with some that we can get down here as there aren't really that many options locally. Ultimately, I like the more traditional platforms as well but just thought to see something different and since I don't have the skills try and find someone who does that can at least do it virtually

So the U.S. is really the only place that markets a luxury brand...i.e Lexus/Toyota, Acura/Honda, Infiniti/Nissan, Cadillac/Chevy, Lincoln/Ford, Buick/GM. A big body sedan is a big body sedan. With the proper styling cues, I think it could totally work.

Keep in mind, he's in Austrailia, yes, you can import cars from Japan, but it's a whole lot easier to just buy something already available. The Aus versions of GM cars are quite different, that's a nice car we should have over here: big, RWD, V8 option, etc. Like America "used to make 'em". Nothing wrong w/ that Holden, it's sick, do it up!!!

And the p'chop of the G8 is pretty much stunning, skills bro!

The particular model or a variation anyway are being exported to the US as police cars. The Japanese cars are available but other than the Lexus models there isn't really as much choice
