I don't know what the correct term is "channeling, sectioning, chopping, blah blah, etc....

Basically, i want to remove 1.5 inches from the lip on my front bumper.

so far i plan on doing this by cutting out 1.5 inches from the the lip. (see 2nd pic).. Then joining the cut pieces ( minus the 1.5" removed) back by laying glass on the reverse side of the bumper to rebuild the structure..

after the structure is sturdy, i'll just do regular body work (bondo, prime, paint) on the front side..

For you experienced peeps out there, does this sound like a good process to use?

Any tips, lessons learned, etc...?

thanks in advance..

that should work. but you should put a peice of fiberglass on the front too. just sand it until its smooth. you don't want bondo on a front lip because it will crack as soon as it hits something. just think of bondo as the stuff you only use if you have to. and when you do you use very little.

I agree with glass on the front also but you'll need filler regardless to get the waves out...

I think its more about the fact that the kit sits so low. Alot of the older style kits were designed to sit on the ground when the car is lowered. Not very practical, and it doesnt let you get the car *really* low.

The newer style kits are much more 'oem' looking and dont sit very low, allowing you to dump the car on its ass and still have some practicality...

(I have the same issue because 99% of the kits for the Cedric are completely impractical at my ride height)
