View Full Version : Where are we?
I wish I wish we were here somewhere the import scene in general here in St.Louis Mo. is already thin so I guess I will be waitng a very long time before Ill ever see anyone else here into VIP style I mean I mention it somewhat to some and all I get are blank stares.Oh well one day hopefully soon Ill see more interest or knowledge about this scene that Im loving in the area where Im from. What do the rest of you guys think is the deal in your areas?Let me know Im very interested to see what the rest of the midwest thinks.

In central Canada (Winnipeg, Manitoba more specifically) I have no idea what the scene is for imports. Manitoba is really into the classic cars (we have the most restored classics per capita in Canada). I did see one LS badged as a Toyota with some lippy meshes and camber, but it wasn't dropped, looked like a work in progress. I've never even heard Vip mentioned anywhere and when kids at school see the pics of cambered out drops, they think the cars are broken :-\
Yeah the town Im in is definitely more old school hot rod type cars and this is a huge union town so imports in general dont get a lot of attention at most of the carshows in this area.

It seems in Chicago, as with most places, People could relate my car to VIP, but they couldn't relate the kit to nothing but Fabulous. A company that makes luxury style kits. I thank the knockoffs of the kit to that one. Only people that REALLY know the scene know what VIP is. That pretty much means anyone that follows the industry. we had a couple Lexus cars done in the exe style. I won't call it VIP yet. They only had mild lip kits and mildly deep wheels. I cold even call myself more of an Exe/Luxury even with a VIP classed kit. I worry more about people watering down the style more than what is right or wong. It seems lots of guys would call their xB's VIP even if they have 15x watevers with a little lip with a bodykit. Not so is the case. That would be Sporty style. Whatever. I just like clean elegant builds that look complete.

North Dakota / MN is a huge race scene import wise. Nothing yet close to VIP stylie. Lower population is due to lack of VIP in this area, im guessing.
But for the population the import/sport compact scene is large. Im in an area of about 200,000 and everyday i see a few new compacts.
But as for VIP, no way.

up here in MN, really almost in the dead center. and ive seen a few VIP styled autos around the capital city. sorry about the tag, i no longer own my ES, i just havent gotten around to switchin it, my brother and i both drive GS300, his a 1999, and his a 2000. Other than us, no one around our town customizes much less drives any kind of luxury cars, so we look like the dealers. Lookin for some people here in MN into the scene.
