Hey Guys,

Just wondering if ANY one has a suggestion to my current problem.

I need a tail light from a North American produced vehicle, that would fit in the general area of a JDM Nissan Y32 Cima.

Currently, the Canadian Vehicle Inspectors are requiring "DOT / SAE" marked lighting for you to be able to pass an Out of Province Inspection. They are trying to limit the flow of JDM imports into Canada by enforcing this rule... Without passing the Inspection, I can't insure the car...

As you may know, Japan cars that were only made of the Japan market, DONT have DOT headlights / tail lights. This means, cars such as Skyline, Majesta, Cima, Pao, Kcars, etc can't pass the inspections.

People now have been forced to retrofit headlights onto their cars. Skyline owners are putting Honda Accord lights in place of the Skyline headlight.

It looks like ASS, and im sure it isn't safe, but thats what we have to do to pass the inspection.

So, does anyone know a taillight in the shape of this one???

It doesn't have to be off a particular vehicle, it can be aftermarket lighting but it HAS to be marked DOT.

**ALSO** it does not need to fit perfectly, as long as it's smaller and can fit in the general area.

Thanks guys

thats a hard shape to find. maybe a 4 runner or something. i'd try to make some sort of bezel or pod so that you can just mount some universal circular lights in there. you can get rectangel ones too

if u look at the picture where the guy is standing over the minivan (perhaps an old sienna), the outer tail light looks like it might fit

he doesn't need them anymore I think. Apparently JIS code is ok for the taillights but still need DOT headlights
