Whats the plan for this sucker?

TransformCelsior
04-15-2007, 06:13 PM
wow how do you plan to fit that ? even with camber, stretch and bodywork; it will still look odd.

Pagong
04-15-2007, 06:33 PM
The fronts will fit with camber.

The rears will max out camber and a pull.

Only if you can see it when Darkanghell had it on his Q before he sold all his stuff.

Here is a shot of how much it sticks out in front
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y104/Pongpagong/DSCF2950.jpg

and a shot from the rear
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y104/Pongpagong/DSCF2947.jpg

And just for reference my old LS lowered and compare how much it stuck out on the LS.

wow nice wheels but what needs to be done to make them fit? If you had those around my area people would think you were the person cutting their grass, and stop asking me to do it, LOL

I allways liked those wheels but never wanted to go throught the trouble of fitting them..so props to the new owner for attacking this project..

Seriously, the wheels in the rear is truly doable with camber, fender roll and pull. Dont know what to tell you about the fronts though. It will look mean.

Dark Anghell
04-15-2007, 09:20 PM
haha this is Vinces new car...Dude that doesn't look bad at all. Just make sure your new suspension has adjustable camber plates and that's about it. The fronts will fit without any major problems. The rears will require more work. But as soon as it's lowered, it will camber in quiet a bit...then it's all about adding more camber like Dominiks car and rolling/pulling rear fender.

All I can say is that when it's done with this little work, many people on this board will be biting themselves for not picking up the wheels and doing the work to fit them :o/

If you need any help Vince, just let me know...I'm out of school and bored for a large portion of the week.

talk about building a car around the wheels...

good luck vince, I cant wait to see this thing slammed!

When i saw my wheels on Darkanghells car i knew it would be less work compared to the LS as you can see.

And i just took the liberty to take pictures so people can see what the wheels would look like on a Q45.

Thats what I was thinking. The rear, when layed out, will probably tuck tire all the way to the rim and sit nice. But the front is gonna need a serious fender pull. Fuck it, go old school and do a wide body... LOL.

I'll be waiting to see how this comes out. When you get them to fit it should mean that you'll have one of the sickest cars on this board as far as stance and fitment. good luck and keep us posted.

I think you may have bitten a little more that you can chew, that is going to require major work.... and personally right now I would take them off (becuase it looks real tacky IMO) and roll with the stockies until you are ready to go to war with the body.... good luck though if you pull it off then it will look killer.....but only if you actually do it.

Wow.. lots of new kids on this site lately. I can't keep up with em all.

Glad to see they all know what they are talking about though!

Definatly in over your head man, just sell them and buy some 17x9 +45's all around.. it'll fit perfect and no mod's necessary!

Dark Anghell
04-16-2007, 09:49 PM
haha +45 might be a little too much...lets go with +55 to be on the safe side.

But on a more serious note...THOSE WHEELS WILL FIT!

Shhhhh...

JZZ30TT can you hook me up with those wheels? :)

Sure thing!

I love how people make assumptions about things when in reality they have zero experience fitting any sort of wheel on any car. It's always fun to read.

You got some work ahead of you, but as long as the car is low enough you can pull that fitment off.

TransformCelsior
04-17-2007, 10:55 AM
good luck on the fit. I'm curious to know how it works out.

after all the money and work to pull fenders-body work, you mind as well have bought some brand new work varianza d3s 19 x 9.5 +10 and 19 x 10.5 +10 and call it a day. At least you'll have some wheel style that nobody els here is whippin.

zion_97
04-17-2007, 11:28 AM
If I am not mistaken he allready had the wheels so if he pais to have the work done it is still going be cheaper than buying brand new wheels and tires. Plus I think that PagongLS might be on to something..most of us take the easy way out and just get whats available or something that is more conservative..IT will be nice to see an aggresive VIP style Q in the states.
I think this car has similiar wheel specs..Look how nice it looks..Straight up VIP

yeah that black car is running those wheel specs but its flared out and seems to be way different then stock. just look at the 2 and you can see it. I don't know but I wouldn't do that to a very clean ride. I mean if you're willing to go all way  Just remember its going to kill the resale value. One thing is to have rolled fenders, another is to have completely modified fenders.

Bro, I don't think these people are worried about resale value. Infact I think it will add to your value if you are selling a true VIP CAR..I bet this car would sell for well over 20 grand if the inside is as nice as the outside..Shit take a VIP car to the JAckson BArret auction in Pheonix I bet you rack in the dough.

WTF is going on.... seriously..

Yea, like I said run 17x9 +45 hell +55 just to appease more people upon resale.

But then again, you probably know what your talking about I mean, it's obvious... just look at your post you can see it!

theres no reason for people to get their panties in a bunch. The car is gonna look awesome when done. I wouldn't car about the mods to the fenders, really. I'm just saying, some people might. Lets just all sit back and wait for it to be finished and admire it. Am I right? *hit, I wish I would have went more aggresive on my wheels now.

I posted up the pics of the wheels on the car to show what and how much the wheels sticks out on a Q45.

And ever since the beginning I have always loved the way a VIP car looks with the wheels poking out a bit. It is just my inspiration. Remember PMP-LEX's with Q45?
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c329/VIP-Y33/IMG_0491.jpg

I cant find anymore of his pics but remember that car?

The look Im after is probably not everyone's cup of tea I am gearing towards the traditional "old school" look with wheels poking out. But just wait it out as I am working on the suspension.

I think that he needed more work for better fitment in the rear..It just does not flow well with the front..Either more neg camber in the wheel to bring the tire in closer to the fender or higher offsets..thats my opinion. THe black one has very similar wheel specs but the rear looks much better..IF you look closely in pic 2 by the gas cover to the edge of the fender..there is a square looking blemish in the paint or metal..and its on both sides I have another pic..So I am not sure if Dennis was done just yet..but if he was done then I think it was a poor job.

I don't see any car in any vipstyle vipcar magazine with that much poke.

it kills the flow and falls beyond the boundaries of perfection.

the car was not done from what I can remember. But lets bring this back on topic, the Q is going to look sick when you get the stance right. Pagong, what kind of suspension are you looking at running on your car?

Looking into UAS, but Im not sure if it has camber plate provisions so I can play with the camber settings.

If not a simple coilover set up with all the adjustable parts I need to get the desired camber in place.

As far as VIP magazines go it depends on what year magazines you are looking at. I have mags dating back to 03 and it has some cars with poke in them. Flares were the big thing and widebody too.

If you're looking at the newer mags it will not show alot of the wildstyle VIP cars, just what is "IN" right now. Which I think is gearing towards the DUB scene were the wheels are tucked in the car.

Maybe you should look harder??

Granted that car wasn't finished in those stages, and the rear leaves something to be desired from the front fitment.

Those wheel sizes or similar can AND HAVE been done on many VIP cars in the past. Just because it's not the latest craze in some fanboy mag doesn't discredit the ability to make them flow with a particular car.

Either way you go air or coilovers, it is going to be hard to achieve the ride height required to pull those wheels off. Oneton's ride and park height is something to shoot for I think. Although, I know there was much thought and work that went into his suspension, it will be worth it in the end.. I mean look at his car!

Camber on the other hand shouldn't be too difficult to achieve. Have you played with any numbers yet or have a ball park on what you'll need to run?

As far as camber goes, without seeing the car lowered I am honestly not sure. But I am shooting for cambering the wheel to the maximum it can go.

I might ask somebody I know if I could go thinner on the tires to give more stretch.

Get some used jics and throw the UAS bags on them, that will be your best bet. I have faith you can fit them. The y33 can take way bigger wheels then the ls.
