I dont think I will have a problem getting pulled over, Tucson police arnt that strict on things like this..But if I do I will let you know,,we dont have a front license law and people use those neon license plate frames all the time.

Damn you got a good deal.. me and Mikey got them both for $500, but we got different plate numbers,,which is cool so were not exactly the same.I dont trust international sellers from ebay as I had bad luck with them in the past..I actually had a close friend/relative pic them up at a used VIP shop in JP..so I new I would get it for sure..but shit man good for you. It took about 2.5 weeks for us to get ours..

I think you should sell it to someone around here..1) YOu cant use but one 2) Its hard to get these plates and I am sure there are folk on this forum that would love to get one of these plates...gots to hook up our VIP bros around here....lol.
Peace

I never got pulled over at all and I had it on all the time at night. I'm also in FL. so I don't know what your laws are.... I sold my pair I had for $400, that included front and back plates with matching rear aluminum seal. I miss them but I wasn't about to put holes into my spirits bumper.

Saw this on Ebay..I am not affiliated or know this person. I am not responcable if someone bids and gets scammed...buyer beware international seller...After hearing the price that Oyabun paid I started lookin and searching on ebay and found this..it is not as nice as a deal that you got and more along the lines of what I paid but if any one is looking to buy one here is the link...I personlly do not do business with internationl sellers or bidders. I have have bad luck in the past so buy beware..looks like you would be paying about $300 shipped from the item decription...

EL backing is way better but is sooo hard to get a hold of. If I were going to get another one I would want it to have like ...1 or 11-11 the typical vip crowd plate numbers. That would be near impossible though i'm sure.

does anyone know if it's ok to modify your REAL license plate to do that? I have the skills todo that but don't want to start cutting up my license plate and get in trouble. Looks sweet though.

I would honestly say to call your local mvd and ask them or do it and the worst that will happen will be a warrning ticket if you take it off..I would imagine like window tint..

YEah I have seen those arnt they for the newer stlye ones..the thiner light box? I was also thinking about just wiring in either super bright white LEDS or The Super Brght Green LEDs...they sell those panerls and I think it would be hella lot brighter and cheaper than to try to get those from JP..

No, the ones you are reffering to are the optional premiums issued by the land office. These are for the regular style as an update item.

The problem with running those LED's is having concentrations of lights in certain areas while others will appear darker making the lighting un-uniform.

I can still get them but $$ talks..and first come first serve..I just had gotten a few more and sold them..everytime I post them seems like folks show a lot of interest untill they find out the price...then they dont want them.. ....for the folks that are interested in purchasing one..PM only if you are serious...the prices I can ususally get them for are $250-$265..depending on condiition...but like I said only serious buyers..

These plates are still hard to come by in Japan and even cost more in Japan for the selected few that will pay the price...

Somewhat off topic, but some what related:
Can anyone explain to me the reason for the large desire for 1-0, 1-1 style license plates? Also, is there anything specific about the 50-50? I've never been able to find any info on this.

They can't really get "custom" plates. But the do have a lottery system for winning certain numbers or sets of numbers.

well, like i stated on post #56, i finally got mine!
i got the "Kobe" plate from a good friend of mine. after putting up his bB up for sale, he had these stashed in a room temperature closet. Lol.

the plates are in immaculate condition, for being the old "bulb" style plates. the "green" plastic numbers are in great contion as well. i dont think that i will update the plates to "EL" type. i'll keep it OEM instead.

i perfer the "KANTO" plates from either TOKYO or YOKOHAMA, since i was born in Tokyo, but the "KANSAI" plate from KOBE will suffice for now.
now i gotta call MOONEYES and see if they have any seals left.

BTW, one of the pic with the plate illuminated, is lit by a weak battery.
