Alright.. finally made my decision. After owning the lexus sc for a little over a year and modifying it to my liking, I wanted a new project.

I was debating between two cars, a w140 benz s500 1997-1999 or a e38 bmw 740 1997-2001..
I wanted a black on black flawless paint with low miles and came across a very nice 740. It was tough
to find a black on black s500 with low miles and I think parts would be slightly easier to find with the 740
so I am going this route. Maybe in a year or two I can pick up the benz while keeping the 740 but for now
i'm going to work on this. Here are some pics!

It was hard for me to find suspension products for the 740 but came across this German company called KW. I've heard some pretty good reviews they are ride height, damper, and compression adjustable so they should be fun to play around with. I am thinking of going with some work euroline SL's as they have been my favorite wheel for sometime and think they would look pretty good on the 740 in a diamond finish with some low offsets and stretched rubber with my fenders rolled and pulled wthout paintwork as it is in pretty good condition.

I going to be messing around with some spacers on sotck wheels so I can get an idea of the right offsets I need before I order my new wheels.. So as far as the suspension and wheels go I think i've got that covered without a problem.. but should I go any further than that?

Probably go for some euro headlights maybe chrome door handles and some curtains remove the 740 i sign in the back leave the bmw one but what more can I really do to this car? I tried searching for some pics, I haven't seen any aero products available for it, besides some lips from hamann, but a little too sporty for me, anybody have any pics of some nice prev. gen 740s done up nicely?

I would like a roof spoiler and trunk lip spoiler maybe some rain gaurds but clueless where to order from..

Any more iformation suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated, as I am not too familiar with the car yet besides the mechanics of it, clueless to good forums and sites for the 740 and don't know where to buy parts from yet. usually before I purchase a car I do this research but found a good deal for this car and jumped on it asap.

Thanks

yeah i'm going to be selling the sc now.. gotta pay back the loan..
the 7 had roughly 17 mpg in city driving and 24 mpg highway.. which is almost the same of what i get on the sc

Hmmm, the wheels in your ps image are the leon hardiritts... similar to the SL, but imo still VERY different.. i.e. lots of lexus people get the euroline SLs thinking they'll end up with something that looks like the leons, but they don't. SLs aren't bad though, just VERY different (imo). Word of warning though... bimmers should use 14mm bolts, so you will need to be sure that whoever orders your Works has some pull with work to assure that they can have them drilled to that size...

workaholic sorry for hijacking your post but what are your wheels and their specs?

i really love your sc* :smitten: ... i looked for almost a year for one but couldn't find a decent one and ended up with my gs, which i'm happy with, but i keep wondering "what if"...

also have you posted other specs/pics of your sc here? i've been trying to use the search option but it's been a messy process* :-\

wow that is wiiiide...

use that as a lesson... a lot of people would say that it would look stupid or wouldn't be 'do-able' yet it looks so damn clean and exotic-ish.

good luck with the new car work... KW suspension is great. I am goiing to pick up varient 2's for the TT
