Wow, the XJ is the only Euro sedan IMO that looks and gives the feeling of real VIP.

Yeah I know what you mean. I'm probably not as strict about what's true "VIP style" and what's not as most people, but I think this looks badass. There are a ton of XJs in Tokyo, but none have ever made me look twice. Except this one

true vip or not, the car looks killer.

I was just thinking about that the other day when i was next to one of those..

Im just not a big jaguar buff.

Agreed. OZ Opera wheels. Nice. What does that Japanese character mean in that parking space?

That's my next project after the G50. I have always wanted to do an XJ. I always mention it in my top list of VIP cars. Yes, I said VIP cars, to me it's far more VIP than most of the Japanese sedans, especially the Vanden Plas models which is the only ones I'd buy since they have the best trim. Awesome leather and the woodgrain is rich and flourishing, even on the rear table trays.

That's because it is. The Vanden Plas is 5" longer than the standard XJ.

the vanden is the "luxury" XJ but they have the XJ and the XJ-L which is 5" longer.

Down here in South Florida especially in Palm Beach area you will see alot of XJ mostly what people on this site refer to as "Dub" still an excellent platform aesthetically however I stayed away from it because of maintenance horror stories. Not that a 2002 S500 doesnt have issues however i know some people at Benz dealerships so hopefully all pans out. Still a beautiful car non the less.

Lodown

Yeah I hear all the maintenance horror stories. Shame, cause aesthetically it looks like a nice car. With the older XJs I've seen GM V8 conversions. Which supposedly addresses a lot of the reliability issues. With the power you can get from lightly tuning a 5.7 Liter small block GM V8, or adding a supercharger, could be quite fun to drop one in a Jag. I haven't read enough about it to see if it's possible with the newer XJs. But there's a site offering the service here:

http://www.jaguarspecialties.com/

VIP style XJ with a vette motor. What a monster that would be. Bit of everything. Euro design, Japanese style and American muscle to power it. True hybrid

(Better add that I'm no Jag expert and have never driven a Jaguar X308 so don't know how they perform stock. With the supercharged V8 they have rated at 370 BHP it sounds like they should be quick enough already. If the maintenance problems weren't a concern.)

Here's a pic of the side profile of the white one. Bit clearer than some of my other shots.

We're both right:
As in the previous year, two wheelbases are available: 113-inch for the XJ8 and XJR, and 117.9-inch for XJ8 L and Vanden Plas.

XJ8 L adds to XJ8:
Comfort and Convenience Features
5-inch-longer wheelbase, power rear sunshade.
Vanden Plas adds to XJ8 L:
Comfort and Convenience Features
Heated front and rear seats, heated steering wheel, 16-way power front seats, power-folding mirrors, navigation system, Alpine sound system, 6-disc CD changer, rear-seat fold-down trays, lamb's-wool floormats.

I just mentioned the higher trim model.

That Jag looks good. My parents had an XJ Vanden Plas, and the maintenance was expensive for them. I was about to sell my Y33 for a 2000 S500, until I heard the maintenance on those were expensive as well. I'm going to have to stick with the Japanese sedans, not that I'm cheap, but I would like to maintain the car myself. :)

Wise Sports makes a few kits for the XJ's.
Type 1 is my fav. from them:

That white Jag is really elegant in white, I rarely ever see them from the factory in that color.

That one looks similar to the one I'm looking at right now. That J-Complete one actually IS a J-Complete..it's a demo car or previous demo car. I recognized the wheels and all. There's another nice one in NF Style (VIP crew) which is a demo car for them as well...or was. Haha. Most of theirs have been XJR's.

Oh, and thanks about my little concept art. I do one of every car I build of my plans. Kind of like what Chip Foose does..only I do it digitally.

Cool photochop concept. Look forward to seeing the pics when you build it. The J-Completes have made me look at these cars in a new light. VIP style suits them so well!
