as some may know, i sold my green wrx about a month ago to a guy in MN.

http://premium1.uploadit.org/tylerwayne//CRW_4156jpeg.JPG

miss it, blah blah blah. but i moved on.

i wanted something differnet. something that nobody would want to fix up. something you see everyday but dont think twice about. but at the same time its classy and practical. a lot of different factors went into why i got what i did, but thats not the discussion.

got my wald kit in today. its EXTREMELY hard to get a hold of this kit bc the mold was destroyed back in november. i beleive there are 2 in america (from what wald japan told us). one in so cal and the other is unknown. took me a long time to source the kit but we found the LAST one in the world hiding at wald japan.

thanks to sander @ the wheel supply for helping me source it. it cost me a shit load (a little more than half of what i paid for the car.. eek) but i think itll all be worth it in the end.

funny thing is, i dont even have the car yet. should be at my house tomorrow though (shipped from florida)
the car will go into paint for a full paint job + custom body work in a few weeks. so these pix will do for now.

ill stfu. pix:

and there's not even a replica for the cheap faggot knockoff fanboys to get a hold of.

w00t for rare hotness.!

Ahhh, so you are the one that owned that wrx, that bitch was low for a wrx.

You live in Houston right? One of my subie friends up here knows of you. Glad to see you got some sense knocked into you and got into VIP. Good luck with the project, looks like you're already off to a great start.

Hey there, I recognize you from h-i.* I can't wait to see the new paint job and the kit onto your new car.* Which model Mercedes did you pick up? Since you have your kit, I'm sure you have some wheels and air ride in mind.* Which wheels and air ride are you going with?* Or is this a surprise?*

By the way, glad to see you made it out to the vip forum.* :)

yep thats me =)
HI is my forum to act an ass. i go on other forums for real car talk :2funny:

wheels are in the works right now and so is suspension. air ride is a definite consideration but im trying to find a kit up to par with air runner. i dont want universal junk since this is my daily. wheels are on hold till after body work. the car has amg wheels and an eibach prokit on it for now until i settle on something more, eh, permenent.

i picked up the 93 w201 2.6L. black on tan leather. has rebuilt suspension, euro headlights and corners and upgraded the whole inside system. only 110k miles. i picked it up for a measly $3500. i honestly couldnt pass it up. i had my eyes on the w124 eclass benz (big body) but this deal was too good to pass up. also the 190 has an awesome racing background and is very much respected in the racing world. so if i get bored of creepin i can take it for some good autox. plus my drive to work is 30 min and a v8 wouldnt enjoy that much.

mine looks exactly like this one, minus the fogs in the front.

airrunner is overpriced for having pushlocks and manual valves. you're paying all the money to say you have "airrunner".

allstar...if you're looking for air let me know, maybe i can help. We're currently building custom air struts for many cars that companies dont make kits for. If you want more info email me at mike@dreamakerskustoms.com

Well also remember that japanese air companies use components from US companies... so you're paying for parts that are shipped from the US over to japan, then back to the US. Granted, the japanese seem to do a much better job putting the stuff together than most US companies though.... the US market is only concerned about where they can get the cheapest kit possible, whereas the japanese generally want to get the best quality. Even something as simple as water traps... pretty much an essential component in ANY sort of compressed air system (and I'm not even talking about just car suspension systems)... note how all the big-name, "expensive" jdm companies include them, and then check out how many of those US-based air shops include water traps with their "bolt-in kits."

good point, they do pay ALOT more attention to detail than many US companies. I've seen some really shitty stuff that people tried to install or wanted us to install...many described as "bolt-in" hahah.

im still playing with the suspension idea. right now im focusing on the exterior and paint. ive picked up a few misc parts which should be here soon. but it wont look bad bc the car is pretty low right now on the eibachs. i may put a smaller spring pad and see if i can get another inch out of her. theres about a 1 finger gap in the front and none in the rear so the kit should fit pretty. im sketchy about air bc i want something reliable.. and a lot of japanese companies dont have kits for my application.

we'll see what i can do with the eibachs :knuppel2:

That brown 190 is my mates car, I helped source some of the parts for it, like the outer lips and gold bolts.

The car was originally white, and he painted it brown and changed the interior last year.

You cannot really appreciate how many modifications the car has, it truely is the only one in the UK like it.

Sunny (the owner) works in a bodyshop, every mod he has done DIY, on the move the car is awesome.

You can find some more pics on our website, when it was white.

I'll ask him, see what he says about revealing all, he's usually pretty good like that.

One thing I should add is that to fit the rear wheels, on a 190 the entire boot is "encased" due to the fuel tank being in there. He had to remove the welds in the inner arch that seal the boot before the rear arches could be widened, then reweld in additional metal to seal the boot up again once the rear arches were widened. This took a good week or so of solid work, his words were "absolute nightmare, never again".

in the front 9j x 16 et 15 BBS Wheels

now i gotta see what offsets i can run without modification. :2funny:

kodiak wheel?

CharismaY33
05-11-2006, 08:06 AM
What he means by kodiak is you know how meshed wheels such as the ssr's have a certain lip well what they do is make custom diameter i don't know would you say outer lips in differnt offsets .Basically what it comes down to is if you dont have enough lip on the rim you can have a deep lip after you unbolt the screws and put a custom kodiak lip for more.

Did you happen to also see what tire size he is running? Offsets and widths arent the only thing, tires play a small role.
