Oh, by the way guys, i am back from my Japan/Euro/Malaysia trip now!
What an awesome time! Didnt get to see many VIP cars in Japan, nor shops as i was mainly helping out as a translator for my gf, but for me I wasnt going there to see cars; It wasnt a pilgrimage to our VIP mecca. I was going there to feel what it is like to be in Japan again, and i am happy to report that it is just the same as when i was last there. I am seriously considering a move to Japan in the future now!
Then i was off to Europe: 11 countries in 28 days. It was hectic but alot of fun. Some of the highlights were:
Spain: Renting a car and learning to drive on the other side of the road (we drive on the left in Australia). Driving through the traffic jams and one way streets in madrid relying solely on my PDA with a GPS attached!
Czech: Under USD$1 for half a litre of beer in a bar. 'Nuff said
Monaco: Grand Royale casino - only Bentleys, Rolls, Ferarris and Lambo's parked out front, inside was straight out of a James Bond movie... For one night i felt like a high roller!
Germany: Sitting in a tour bus at 100km/h and watching Audis and Mercs overtake us doing at least twice our speed. Or on the ICE train doing about 250km/h and watching an Audi on the autobahn doing the same speed as us
And of course all the history of the place. Its amazing to walk through the ruins in Rome thinking that these same steps were taken by romans 3000 years ago, or to stand in a castle that has probably seen several attacks in it's 1000 year history...
Then on the way back we went through Singapore and Malaysia... I wanted to send a message to try and meet some of our Singapore/Malaysian members but i was too late/didnt have internet access. Nevermind i was too busy eating anyway. My gf has family and friends in that area and they were doing their best to see if they could turn us into Sumo wrestlers by the end of the 8 days. Up to 6 meals a day (each one was huge), and never once repeating any dishes. From Hawker stalls to nice restaurants we ate everything they threw at us. We avoided all touristy stuff, and when we werent eating we were shopping for clothes and cheap DVDs :)
Anyway, i am back now. Managed to collect well over 100kg of stuff along the way (posted back at various points), so I am busy unpacking and getting back to a normal life. I need another holiday now!
Oh, and on the car front, I should mention that I sold the Bosozoku VIP Cima while i was away :(. Fortunately the new owner is a mate and also a member of this forum, so I will still get to see it every so often. He has some big plans for it, and i cant wait to see how it all turns out. I am sure he will post pics along the way
For me this means i will now be concentrating on the Cedric. First stop, coilovers!
P.S. Will post pics soon!
