i would do the sides of the spokes in a darker grey/metallic color then have the face diamond cut to a nice clean polish.

Yeah, I think it would look good the same finish but with gold rivets to give them some pop

Black face/polished lip would in my opinion be the best option. The gold rivets would look a bit too gaudy.

because of the style of the wheel I would just go with a refinish. The wheels are so clean that way and will look great with the color of the van!

i say powdercoat the face black and then powdercoat the lip the same red you are painting the lower half of the van. but then again thats no exactly VIP

Black centers have "jumped the shark" here on the west coast.
Futhermore, I don't consider black VIP... at all.

I would re-do them brushed (machined) with high-polished or chrome outer lips, to set the machined face off a little.

Maybe paint the center "windows" (areas that are now silver) graphite or black if you want a little visual 'pop.'
I would definitely re-clear coat the centers if you do this.

i agree with nadreams, you should refinish the wheels, but i think black wheels would definately make the car stands out more! this makes the car looks more aggresive

im leaning with either CHUPACABRIO's idea with a refinish or a refinish with the powdercoated black face....

Are you semi-retarded or do you just lack control of common sense? I need to know so that I can reply to this in the best possible manner.

Shawn, I would talk to oneton about some original ideas unless you would just like to play it safe.

Gold rivets own...esp. on black.

If you're doing the red/black 2tone, I don't think a charcoal color would work well...and I can see what you mean about the red lip and Advans...I'm thinkin gold rivets, black face, polished lip with that 2 tone would be clutch!

Here is my take on what I think would look sick

Hmm...that is pretty sick. Very unorthodox, it could win with astounding kickassness or fail miserably

wow the red would be amazing!

or play it safe with black center/polished lip

Wouldn't an anodized finish be hard to match to the paint though?

Well, I've never been called retarded before. That's a new one.

I actually make wheels for a living, so I think I am a little qualified to make a statement about wheel trends.
We used to make quite a few wheels with black centers; we maybe make ONE or TWO sets a month now. The trend is definitely slowing down.
Perhaps black is still hot back east, but it isn't so much here in California.

I'm just saying that if I were refinishing a set of wheels for a new look, it wouldn't be in black.

And seriously... how many Japanese VIP cars do you see with black wheels?
I'd say black is more of a DUB or racer look. The cars we do black centers for are all 300Cs or Porsches.

You asked.

and anyways its what you think looks nics and i like black centers (on some cars and wheels).... im leaning toward just refinishing them to look the sam but with the dark grey insides...

I think that (refinish with darker windows) is a safe choice that will look good and you won't regret later on
