!**new car options... help me out**!

so i was trying to really keep this to myself, but ive come to a point where i spend my days looking at 2 different cars and i cant really make a decision. solely looking for unbiased opinions. let me state beforehand that even if the majority doesnt like car "A" im going to get car "B". but what would you do.

so im tired of the xb and im doing better than i thought id be doing at this point in my life so im looking to upgrade. my budget is $27,000.. not a penny more. my options are:

1) 98-99 Q45 which will run me roughly +/- $11k. my main objective is low mileage (60k ish) and white. im guessing i can find one for 11k out the door utilizing the remeinder for mods. more than likely have everything done at once. airrunner, aggressive 19s, anceltion kit and full paint, avic-n1 but a little money to sit on. the only drawback would be that its an older car and Q's are popping up everywhere lately, but im not really concered about what others are doing.

2) 02+ ls430 UL. fully loaded UL with navi, factory air, mark levinson sound, etc. ive been driving them all day long in the $22k-$23k price range out the door with roughly 60k miles. using that price range, i'd roughly have a few thousand for mods. i was thinking datasystems airride controller, youzealand ss kit, 19x9/19x10 slightly aggressive wheels, dvd bypass to play dvd's on the navi unit and minor details such as upgraded interior speakers, hid fogs and whatnot. the drawback on the ls is id have less money to play with for mods but it may be a better idea seeing how its a newer model and itd be a long term investment.

im getting a 6 year term on the loan. i could always sell ahead of time but im looking for a car i can utilyze for work and have a little fun with. not looking for a show stopping panty dropping show car, just a car to get me around in style. i probably wouldnt even show the car. i take clients around from time to time so obviously nothing too aggressive.

cars are same color same mileage yet two TOTALLY different cars.
ive been shopping for the past 3 weeks and these are really my last 2 options. the loan has been closed just need to find the car i want. i had a deal closed on a e55 amg last week but it ended up being a lemon.

I would get the LS430 seeing that you said that i take clients around from time to time so obviously nothing too aggressive.
makes the LS430 a more appealing choice.

Having the DATA systems air controller on the "FACTORY" air ride is probably a plus as well, since it still retains the factory stock ride without some of the drawbacks of aftermarket air suspension.

I like the 99 LS400 versus 02 LS430. but since you're going with those two. I'd say 98-99 Q45.

If you get the LS430, go with 20's. My buddy (siphanracing) bought my Fabulous 20's off me, and they look way better than 19's would. 19's will look a bit small if you slam the car with the air controller (which he has)

Go with the UL, and you get all the cool options, like seat massagers, fridge in the back, laser guided cruise control...Nothing sweeter, and I don't think a y33 can top it.

Even with just the drop and wheels, the car turns heads like nothing. No need for a kit yet, as it's just pimp sitting there laid out. Drop rides really smooth too.


If you were to go with a Q, I'd go with an F50, over a Y33, since less people have them.
OR if you want something a lil more out of the box, go with a previous generation M45, like johnee's (iirc) M45.

OR you could always go with that vanden plas jag...lol.

But I would say, the LS430 for the fact that it's newer and so many people are hoping on the Q45 platform.:sad: LS430 are the cream when it comes to luxary, at least out of the two! Everytime i'm in my homey Grayson's LS I feel so relaxed and comfrotabe, like sitting it one of those big massage chairs at the shaper image! :biggthumpup: Also LS430s also come w/ sooooooo much! Of course the smart choice would be the Q bec ause you'll have more money left over and either way these cars last along time if taken care of right. Another note to consider, TAKE YOUR TIME BUILDING YOUR CAR! I built mine kinda fast and kinda wish I haden't because it never ends and I always want to change or upgrade! So you'll never be finished! GL on your desicion! and congrats on being able to have an income to make such a descion! :smiley:

haha ive always built my cars quick too. i did the benz in 4 months, the xb is 2 months and the previa wouldve been a month. lol. but im like you, i get bored quick. but my state of mind is different when it comes to this next car. im not quite retiring, just taking a step out of the "all-out" show aspect and just building a comfortable daily. i think the ls looks sexy as is and doesnt NEED a kit, but they do look great with them if i do head down that path in the near future.
and ive been deciding between 19s or 20s and i like how 19s look not too big not too small and allow the car to go much lower with the factory air. air for daily may just be a bit more practical.
as for the y34 m45, ive driven a lot of those too and it doesnt do too much for me. its a great car but doesnt necessarly "wow" me. same goes for the g50 q45. for the price its options arnt as broad.

mike, what do you not like about the ls430 that the 99-00 offers. those were a choice when i found out they come with factory air as well, but they look a bit dated from the rear (like the ucf10)

Good luck finding a UL ucf21, when i was looking for my car (and damnit i should have picked it up) I had found a white 99 for 13k, nav, air, white/gray interior. It was the only one I had found, that was a reasonable distance away. It had about 115k miles on it, and i opted for a lower mileage car, being as this was the car i would have for a long time.
