What is it about your car that made you choose it?
Was it luck? A deal you couldnt pass up? A car that was already in the family? A car you saw made you want one? Explain

I scored a hell of a deal on a car that I had wanted and couldn't wait to mod in my particular style. Not to mention it's a platform that doesn't get the credit it rightfully deserves...and I mean come on!! Rear seat fold down trays stock!!!! Hahaha!

Absolutely unmissable deal on this car; originally to be used for spare parts for my Y31 Cima, but then i decided it would be a shame to wreck one of the only Y32s in the country

I like starting out with the red headed middle stepchild of cars and that's exactly what I got, between a Q45 and an M45/35

Hmmmmm...back in 96'-97' I was in 6th grade and I was looking through a "import" magazine and I seen an ad for a company that sells body kits and I seen a little picture of a 1st gen gs300.I didn't know what kind of car it was but I thought it looked sick.fast forward to 2000 and I seen a car that resembled that car.then I found out what it was.come 2005 I finally found one at a dealership and picked it up.plus I didn't want to buy a new car and not have money to mod it.and no one my age was into the VIPstyle.I'm always wanting to be different.

Found out thru this site the potential of modding a previa, so I sold my suv for a minivan. Plus I needed more space to haul my r/c model warships to the lake.

Nice! I was always a huge fan of Q's. G50's and Y33's because my friend had them in his family since the mid 90's. When It was my turn to get a car I was all after the sc430. I couldnt justify the rear seat being so small so I was then looking for a LS430. At the time, I couldnt find one with navigation or in a color I wanted for under $37000 locally. Then I found a Hunter Green F50 with the blonde birdseye woodgrain. I never seen that combo before. Once I got in and saw the rear seats reclined and it had a rear view camera, I was sold. Another plus was that it was alil cheaper at the time. I have yet to regret my decision but I still wonder how my LS430 would of looked if I had gotten one

The Q45s are baller. I went to go look at a few, but they were all priced way over my budget. I ran into my LS just out of luck. Its like the cars you love, find you! Funny story about when I bought my SC300. I spent months looking around for a real nice 5spd SC300 97+ with black leather interior(I HATE TAN) after I sold my Si. I had also just sold my passport (daily) so I needed to get a new ride quick. I found a silver 97+ auto at a local dealership, which was in good condition and I was going to settle on. I didnt get approved for some reason, but the sales man said he had another SC300 in the back, but it had a red 92 with tan interior. I said I was willing to at least look at it. Turns out that 92 SC300 only had 60k on it. On top of that it was grey interior and a 5spd. It was like perfect timing. I still miss my SC, but am much happier in a big ballin ride like the LS430. Just a few more months of her being in the shop guys, hopefully she will be out for next years show circuit.

Second gen aristo has been my favorite sedan since it came out when I was 12. Got one for a deal that I couldn't say no to. Built the car pretty conservatively, and one of my really good friends offered me $3000 more than I had into the car total, had to part ways. Then found a local deal on a y33 that was almost better than my GS and haven't looked back in the month I have owned the Q!
I am pretty sure an F50 will be my next sedan provided gas doesnt go to $8 a gallon by the time i want a new sedan.

racinstylez I'm am really curious what you paid. That is a huge step up from the SC!
I also bought my 00 RL because it was a deal I couldn't pass up. I may trade it in on an M45 or Q45 if I can find one. Newer VIPcars are pretty hard to find in Canada and way over priced. There are a only a couple of Y33's for sale in all of Canada and most want over 20k haha

wanted a 2GS since they hit our shores back in 1998 and they had that bad-ass commercial with the tagline "Something Wicked This Way Comes".
Since then I picked up my old 98 GS300 back in '01 with 27K miles on it. Dropped it and rocked the 20" Dronell CA-05's in Japanese Superchrome. And then some fuck-nut in a semi rear ended an F150 on the highway and ran it into me!! Totalled!!
Got a nice check for that ride and picked up my GS4 a few years ago. Been taking her towards being a little more VIP-ish with every mod since.

Why I picked the cars I'm working on
Protege: fuel economy, reliability, my own stubborness.
240SX: massive aftermarket, been wanting one since before I bought the Protege, want a car than can do donuts

Well I used to have a 2nd Gen GS. Wasn't VIP styled because it was too expensive for me at the time. I ended up totalling that car, we got 17k for it from insurance. We then decided to buy a '76 280z for 3k as a project car. Soon after that I started looking for another DD. I hate the little sporty cars that people have. I hate sitting in the backseat of them. I like people to be comfortable when they get in my car. So I started looking into the big bodies. A GS was too expensive for me so I started looking at Y33's. Found one with air already done up for 7500 and 90k miles. We picked it up the day after we saw it.
I miss the GS too much so I think im just going to finish this car to my liking (stock body most likely) and the try to sell it for a bit of a profit then pick up another 2nd gen....

i've been wanting to buy a g50 for a while but never found one to my liking. one day i got a random call from a friend saying that his sister's friend was tryin to sell his 94 q45 for cheap. hopped into my car and went to check it out. i was expecting some q45 with a lot of miles but it ended up it was super clean and only had 84,000 miles on it. took it out for a test drive and i immediately fell in love with it.

i had a ucf10 a long time ago, did it up with weak 18's, xenon body kit, eibach springs and it was nice for 9 years ago! finally got to the point where i was tired of messing with building fast cars and decided to go back to a lexus. at first i was just going to get some wheels and lower it a bit and leave it at that for a daily driver. found another ucf10 like i wanted and brought it home. looking around for wheels, i realized things had really changed as far as styling for these things, vip was the way to go. got some pretty nice wheels and stuck them on. got some lowering springs and stuck them on. realized i needed/wanted to be much lower. now i'm hooked spending money i dont' have on vip stuff!

i was tired of getting tickets in my 240sx and made my gf's boobs hurt for being so stiff on coils and solid subframes. and in 2004 i was introduced to vip and wanted a luxo platform to work to drive. been looking at ucf10's and 20's but they were way too overpriced for a grip of mileage until my friend forwarded the y33 to me it was a 98 in pearl white super clean with only 90,000 miles owned by an older white couple meticulously maintained at dealer for 6500. so i had to jump on it. sold my s13 coupe and ae86 and bought it. now theres no looking back. but im planning on getting an old datsun roadster for a project.
